I've managed to get past level 10 (namely to level 13-14). After that, the enemy-meteor sequence keeps repeating itself, and the boss face won't get any more frightened either.

I've reached the 9th level ,but DAMN it's hard!!! There are those scimitar shaped ships and meteor showers in every 2nd second, with 6 meteors. I couldn't get past level nine so far.
