  • Matthews was not this much of an ass back in the day.

  • All these Matthews haters never have felt a physical response to a powerfull speech exept for their religious demagogues. Really sad.

  • not partisan my ass.

  • Anyone who uses the term "tea bag" is a moron, so your contribution has about as much credibility as Mao's dead ass.

  • surprised stephen moore was able to get out of his coffin during the day to give this interview.

  • Sesame Street has more people watching than HARDBALL. NO JOKE!

Chris Mathews actually said he get a chill, when he sees Obama! What a squid... Maybe if Chris the HardBall would take the Presidents member out of his mouth long enough to learn what it is to be objective his ratings would go up!

  • Republicans: Please, please convince your Teabagger buddies to nominate militantly ignorant buffoon Sarah Palin for president in 2012. Sarah proved she wasn't a Quitter. By quitting!

  • Please...continue to underestimate this.............

  • Teabaggers are just Republican astroturf.

  • We were against that too...but after 6-9 months of the same nonsense, it's time to stand up.

  • The liberals complain that the right is so violent and "angry". Well, wasn't it Obama that told his supporters to "get up in people's face, knock on their doors. We can't loose this election"?

Isn't the left the ones who said that "Bush was a murderer" "Bush is a Nazi". Yet you don't hear anything about this in the news.

  • Matthews has a point. Where were these people last fall when the bail-outs started under Bush?

Although Obama, Pelosi, and Reid all supported the bail-outs, Bush didn't have to sign it. He should have said "your complaining that I'm driving up the deficit. Yet you want me to sign this bill. How about we wait a few months when my term is over. Who ever is president then can sign it." But Bush didn't have the balls to stick up to them.

  • you are such a liar, glen beck and his mob entice these people to do something to cause alarm in this country. liar liar I love Chris he is my guy.

  • "Steve, stay in your box" I laughed so hard at that

  • You must be easily amused.

  • Nobody wants taxes? Uhmmm...I don't mind the fact that there ARE taxes. I don't think there's a country on earth that doesn't have some form of taxes. It's how you get things like....you know, uhm....roads? schools? social services? police? The bailouts are one thing but let's not start imagining a tax-less utopia.

  • Thomas Jefferson wanted to run the whole government on small tariffs and customs duties. It is ridiculous to say that every other country does something, therefore we should do it. There was no other free country in 1776.

Yes, taxes are necessary to support your statist, socialist utopia, but I don't want state-controlled roads, education, etc.

  • Really...so you think some corporation is going to build a highway system equivalent to what we have and just let you use it out of the goodness of their heart? Just because I want there to be SOME public things paid for by tax money doesn't make me a full-blown socialist. If I'm guilty of dreaming of socialist utopia then you are just as guilty of dreaming of some kind of free-market utopia the likes of which even Friedman wouldn't have dreamt of. Oh and way to respond to a 4 month old comment.

  • No one would build a highway and give it away for free, the only reason they would build it is if they would profit from it. Sure, I have a dream of a truly free-market utopia. It will never happen though.

  • Yeah, it's true, corporations always act rationally and with the interests of others in mind. I'm sure they'd all be responsible and pay workers what they deserve too, because hell, they won't wanna hold onto all that money.

"I have a dream of a truly free-market utopia. It will never happen though."

    Thank fuck for that.

  • Corporations (or individuals for that matter) never voluntarily act in the interests of others. They want to pay their workers the absolute minimum. The workers on the other hand, want to earn the maximum amount possible. When the most an employer will pay and the least a worker will take meet, the employee is hired. It is completely voluntary. Walmart doesn't force anyone to work for them. Government forces people to sacrifice half of their wealth to them at gunpoint. Which is more immoral?

  • Does your comment lose relevancy with time?

  • Well, if they weren't Republican in the beginning, they sure as FUCK are now. I don't think you can find pictures of one of these events now without signs talking about Obama being a socialist, etc etc.

  • I won't deny the grassroots element to the Tea Parties, but look at the way that FOX, especially Beck actively promoted them.

  • Dronetek1 Just because someone supported Obama do not makes them a liar, the Boston tea party was a republican organization posing as a spontaneous grass roots movement. Chris is right its the Bush administration that started the bail outs.

  • You're talking about a show and host that have publicly devoted themselves to Obama. Why would you expect to get any truth from this show?

  • If a commentator essentially agrees with Obama's direction for the country -- and hasnt found Obama, or his people, lying and dealing in secrecy like the Bush administration, that means the commentator cannot be trusted to deliver the facts?

Okay dronetek. I see the way you think. YOU MUST BE ANTI-OBAMA TO BE TELLING THE TRUTH. You see no problem with that reasoning?

  • "Okay dronetek. I see the way you think. YOU MUST BE ANTI-OBAMA TO BE TELLING THE TRUTH. You see no problem with that reasoning?"

Well if Obama is based in lies and folly, which he is, then obviously the truth must be in someone who does not adhere to Obama's worldview. We wouldn't even be in the mess we are today if it weren't for the legacy of those similar to Obama, under both the Republicrap and Democrap parties.

  • Stephen Moore got served his two cents.

  • Isn't tea-bagging where you put you balls on the chicks face....

  • Chris Matthews just has too many tingly feelings down his leg for Obama to understand these Tea Parties.

  • Enlighten us. Because all I've ever seen from them is a bunch of pissed off conservatives holding up signs whining about pork, taxes, bailouts and Obama being a socialist/the antichrist. You can say it isn't partisan all you want, but if it walks like a duck...quacks like a duck...

  • The teabag parties are nothing more than misdirected anger. If you see any clip about them, the people are totally irrational. They're loyal, uneducated, and angry peasants who've been duped by the rich. They rant and rave about no more high taxes when 95% of them, which means almost 100% of the protesters, are getting tax cuts.

Who do you think is funding these protests? Grassroots? Na, more like astroturf.

  • irrational? sounds like you need to do some research. first look up the federal reserve, then look up peter schiff, then learn about the solution-ron paul

  • When those deficits, corporate bailouts and national health care bills come due,do you think anyone is going to get a tax cut?

  • Grass Roots by the Ron Paul Movement.

the NEO-CON's tried to poo poo it they couldn't stop it so now they want credit for it.

  • msnbc has to attack anything fox news does because they are on the edge of bankruptcy and rating are smaller about by 600 percent

  • Anti Tax? don't think all these people are on CEO salaries so it must be something else.

Perhaps people are waking up finally to who they are governed by

Perhaps people are feed up being ruled by offshore bankers like the federal reserve and seeing Obama's entire cabinet is from Wall street all of them!! plus the patriot act not being reversed by Obama like he said he would do.

Various organizations will try to hijack this for their agenda. But people the masses have the ultimate power

  • Steve stay in your box! hahaha.

  • Genuine grassroots my ass.

  • Chris is making this guy bury himself cos he'll be caught on record defending the fat cats.

  • msnbc and there crew are to stupid to understand why there ratings are in the dump , everyday it's the same shit with them attack bush and fox news , jezz what a bunch of morons

  • sure buddy....keep listening to FOX and your IQ goes UP

  • the problem with the libs is that they think the tea parties is nothing but a right wing thing , the problem is that they just don't get it , see chris just can't help but to blame bush

  • show me the relevant connection between dumping tea into open water (wasting it) and effective protest in these times of economic hardship.

and don't mention the boston tea party or tyranny, because that was actually original

  • Nothing but a right wing thing? I think most of them know its a libertarian thing the the right ripped off . I think most of them realize that the tea bag parties are in protest of things that the majority of the participants approved of until they thought a democrat was going to do it.

Who the hell else should he blame??

  • keep it up you all......You are not going anywhere....Regional Party is your future

  • I will not stop protesting until the the fed reserve is gone!!!!

  • Kusinich and Kaptur were against the bailouts, as for more taxes only for the rich, not under 250k, but these morons dont get it,

  • Stephen Moore can't even keep a straight face while he's trying to say this crap.

  • TRIES TO CLAIM?? WHAT KIND OF IDIOT WANTS HIGHER TAXES FOR ANYBODY the I.R.S. is the worst ENEMY you will ever have...PMSNBC likes the I.R.S. only out of political gamesmanship.... if you idiots want to give more money the I.R.S. thay take donations !!! send them a check !!! but the liberals just like giving out other peoples money.... geithner....

  • yeah, Obama allowing the Bush tax cuts to expire is making a mistake, that liberal socialist. He should be more conservative and bring taxes down to the levels we had during Reagan's administration. Look, kid, taxes are a necessary evil. Look at countries where people don't pay taxes, like central America and some southAmerican countries. Is this what you want for America? It sucks to pay taxes but you gotta pay them to maintain the empire we got. Can't have it both ways !

  • you gotta pay THEM????? you mean US ..we the people....thats the problem thay dont listen to US.....flat tax.... fair tax.....there has got to be a better way....

  • KID?????? you must have seen me getting out of the shower when it was COLD !!!!

  • the real "Million Man March".........what an ass.

  • Stephen Moore is the GOP's bitch.

  • I bet Mr. Kudlow told his lackey to comment on how liberating tea parties can be.

  • TEABAGGERS! This explains a lot about republicans. They are incapable of making sense because their mouth is full.

  • msnbc is such a biased RAG. matthews has had obumers nuts resting on his chin for so long he doesn't know which way is up.. What a pathetic cocksucker.. and what a pathetic, obumer cocksuckering liberal RAG .

  • BALANCED MY ASS!!!... what does he mean "The Real Million Man March"... IDIOT!!

  • People who are soooooooo against socialism should just send back their social security checks and deny using their medicaid. Now THAT would make a statement.

  • yep, no roads,

  • The GOP has been taken over by fascist bigoted terrorists.

  • Those FOX commercials are chilling to watch, and the people behind them are beyond evil. It sickens me that so many sheep will rally behind it.

  • They're not sheeps, they're wolfs. Stupid ones.

  • effin' sinister that mathews still treats Fux newz as though it is a legitimate news network and not a right -wing propaganda

machine for dementia-addled seniors and mental midgets...

  • Grass roots = non neo-con (aka the corporate party).

Why wasn't the MSM interested when the "grass roots" showed up in droves to support Ron Paul and the Campaign for Liberty? Why wasn't the MSM interested when storm troopers were sent to intimidate the "grass roots" during both the RNC & DNC last year?

Now, the MSM is interested in the "grass roots" tax protest because they think they can spin it to include the neo-cons agenda.

  • These are really douche bag parities.

  • stephen moore has a little tiny dick for which he overcompensates CONSTANTLY, especially when trolling DC leather bars... what a putz!

  • 2:53 he says it perfect, republicans own fox, we all know it, these protests were about ending the fed, not just taxes, and plenty of republican "top dogs" are dependent on deficit spending and inflation just as bad as democrats so the fed is protected by them too, they see something threatening their power, they either try to ignore it, discredit it, or attach themselves and spin the message. this time they picked the latter.

  • lol only a deranged right wing nutty can believe a "movement" started by a major news corporation is "grass roots."

  • they did steal it, mostly libertarians and independents started this movement, but the neo-cons are trying to hijack it, it was started as a way to get people to watch freedom to fascism, and start thinking about why they pay "voluntary" income tax to fund wars that are bullshit theft of land and resources, and once they heard it was growing, they started attaching themselves and spinning the message to "outrage" at obamas budget, the GOP has been hi-jacked, so have the dems. though.

  • If by "The people" you mean "wingnuts" then I agree with you. You wingnuts still haven't clearly laid out what you have had enough of. Taxes? Obama has not raised any taxes since he has bee elected. He has only passed the BIGGEST middle class tax cut in history. So what is this really about?

  • cigarettes, more pore people smoke than rich, more tax on the poor, my newports went up a buck a fucking pack, and the inflation is about to hit the fan, fuck bush for what he's done, fuck obama for what he's doing. end the fed.

  • cigarrettes? that was your governor partner !!!

  • nope google federal tobacco tax started april 1

  • apparently its about the bailout, and maybe its partially true that it became grassroots and just built up and exploded now by coincidence.

Its still stupid, because the only solution as an option to replace the bailout is the republican/conservative idea of do nothing and it will all fix itself, however thats supposed to happen, and lower taxes and that will fix everything.

I dont like the bailouts either and am against them, but being the opposition party for the sake of it is asinine.

  • waltermh111: it's NOT a Republican idea to do nothing about the market and to abolish unconstitutional taxes, it's a Libertarian, Ron Paul, idea.

Politicians from both the Republican & Democrat parties tax just as much as the other. They just label it differently and sell it to their bases with different ideological smooth talk.

  • There is nothing unconstitutional about raising taxes on the rich and lowering the taxes on the middle class.

  • No, we get that.

But liberals have had to pay taxes for bs too...the thing is...we're used to paying taxes for bullshit, we've been doing it the past 8 years.

And so have you guys, but now the guy in the white house is black, and capitol hill is blue, so now you want to raise hell.

We wish you would have protested the shit that led to this: Bush's tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans, Bush's pointless invasion of Iraq which cost us billions of dollars a month, and rampant deregulation.

  • july 12 last year, december 16 '07, we were, most of us have just woke up to the two-party dictatorship over the last few years, personally I was a bush hater since daddy was in, and have recently been studying the masive amount of corruption on the "other side", and noticed the real problem is their system is built to stick us into groups to fight each other over nonsense, and not pay attention to the people paying these puppets. you know John Kerry made the most money in the senate off Iraq?

  • We get it Dick Armey and all his billionaire friends are pissed off. Do you really believe fox has given this "movement" millions of dollars worth of ad time if they didn't have a dog in the fight. You're being used by the FreedomWorks Foundation and you don't care. I hope no one gets hurt.

  • your just pissed because your guy lost.

You dont get it. these idiots are protesting bank, aig, auto bailouts... all passed by good old BUSH. Where were you guys when BUSH added 6 trillion to the debt? Get some facts.....

  • Faux News does love them selves and AWEFUL lot.

  • Moore is either a liar or certifiably psychotic, as in fully dissociated. I had not seen the Fox ad for these before. Yikes! As a person who has attended and attempted to organize political actions I am shocked that anybody would try to pass this off as grassroots. Normally for protesters to get coverage by national television news media blood must be drawn & quite a few windows smashed (ie:G-20, Seattle etc.). Then it gets 15 seconds during headlines. They're acting like it's the World Series.
