Not only did Blizzard ripoff the xenomorphs and Bugs, they even had the cheek to create a proper, coherent explanation for how the different warrior breeds evolve, how Zerg bases adapt and grow, and give them a command structure too (although that in itself owes a lot to 40K's Tyranids. Cue Kerrigan, making them 'Basically the Tyranids crossed with Bugs crossed with xenomorphs, but led by a woman with tentacles) :-)
