This is excatly why I like DBZ a bit better than bleach.
In DBZ, although it can get repetitive, they tell the whole story from start to finish, with the cutscenes only getting better and better with each game. In bleach games, no story, no explanation, I'll just throw you in there to fight blindly.

The story is truly the biggest drawback of this game. I'm a Bleach fan through and through so I know every single detail, attack, and release but this game doesn't offer anyone outside of the fandom a chance. I think anime vid. games have the chance to bring in some new people. Like Storm Generations will do with Naruto. It is starting from the very beginning to there will be no holes unlike this game where it drops you in the climax. Great game. Needs more story substance for sure.
K. I'm a huge Bleach Fan and I'm into the latest episode. I own Bleach Soul Resurreccion and I won't sell it. It's a GREAT game to be their first on the PS3 but not as good as the Heat The Soul ones. But nonetheless I expect an awesome fighting game of Bleach on PS3 that will stay on par with Ultimate Tenkaichi and Ninja Storm 2 in the future. :)

Let me get this straight, Ign got someone who has only seen 50 episodes of this Animé, When the part this game is set in is around episode 150 ? Is it any surprise he was fucking lost by the story? At least get people who what the fuck they're talking about to do reviews.
The audio is forgivable because you select the worst music from mission mode to put in your review. Mission mode has awesome musics. All games have bad musics and Bleach isn´t an exception, however almost all are excellent musics in this game.

I was a bit worried about IGN giving a review on this game because most of there reviews on anime (like this) and Japanese horror games (Calling and Juon) are bad. They were SO wrong about Calling. Its a great game. But for once I like this review a lot more then others they made -__-
I'd say this review is pretty fitting. I'm a huge fan of Bleach myself, but let's face it. This game is much more suited for fans of the series whereas those who are unfamiliar with Bleach would be less inclined to play it. If the creators could have made a fighting game, or at least put everyone in this thing (Where are the Arrancars' unreleased forms? The shinigami's shikai forms? WHERE THE HELL IS NEL?), I might have bought Soul Resureccion.

@AnimeXeta there was a filler arc after that but its finished now. the new season is about 2 years after aizen and it explains alot of things like what exactly chads power is and who the previous subsitute shinigami was. i recomend yo start watching again. :)
The reviewer gets paid to review games... there's no excuse for not taking the 15 minutes to look at how many total episodes there are and think, "Yeah... that 50 episodes line makes me sound like a n00b."
@IntolerantMaster I will admit I know little about the show so may I ask how exactly the filler works. All at once or spread out. Like 20 filler then 20 action or 2 action then 2 filler then 2 action again. Whenever I try to watch the show on adult swim I almost always get filler episodes.

This guy only ever saw the first big arc (Which has NOTHING to do with this game) There's like 3 proper filler seasons and this guy hasn't watched them either. So you'd be correct with 20 filler, 20 action but the number itself varies for each,
Soul Resurrecsion? It's REH-ZUR-EK-SHUN not REH-ZUR-EK-SEE-OWN! It's odd how not just IGN but other "official" review outlets mispronounce relatively common words that you would think would be incredibly easy to pronounce.
@JeffL1313 It actually is pronounced "Reh-zur-ek-see-own", because the word here is in SPANISH, not the English counterpart "resurrection". Look at how it's spelled and you'll see that.
@Montesama314 I just double checked. "Resurrección" is Spanish and pronounced "Reh-zur-ek-see-own" but the title of the game "Resurrection" is English and pronounced "Reh-zur-ek-shun". That means the reviewer randomly slipped into Spanish for one word...
See he watched the English version that's why he doesn't know anything thats going on It died out after soul societies arc...the English dub sucked anyways only character that sounded good was ichigo

"Meaningless story" is off the mark, but overall this seems like a fair review. If you don't know the story, this won't appeal to you, and the combat looks a little flat. I know the story, but I want a game that's more than just this kind of button masher. If the creators could have made a fighting game, or at least put everyone in this thing (Where are the Arrancars' unreleased forms? The shinigami's shikai forms? WHERE THE HELL IS NEL?), I might have bought Soul Resureccion.

@AnimeXeta there was a filler arc after that but its finished now. the new season is about 2 years after aizen and it explains alot of things like what exactly chads power is and who the previous subsitute shinigami was. i recomend yo start watching again. :)

@IntolerantMaster I will admit I know little about the show so may I ask how exactly the filler works. All at once or spread out. Like 20 filler then 20 action or 2 action then 2 filler then 2 action again. Whenever I try to watch the show on adult swim I almost always get filler episodes.

This guy only ever saw the first big arc (Which has NOTHING to do with this game) There's like 3 proper filler seasons and this guy hasn't watched them either. So you'd be correct with 20 filler, 20 action but the number itself varies for each,

@JeffL1313 It actually is pronounced "Reh-zur-ek-see-own", because the word here is in SPANISH, not the English counterpart "resurrection". Look at how it's spelled and you'll see that.
