@buniluvr Good morning Julie...yes I think we do need that...this country is is being devastated, and it's really just another day at Wall Street, or on Capitol Hill, for the fat cats...they don't care...for them, the long term just says "business as usual".
Love the song Walt. It's a shame the political verbal volleyball going on in Washington. What a mess it is. And according to many, it's just the beginning. Be well.
@busywave Thank you Mark...it is a mess...it's the system that we created. It's not a pretty picture like these nice old 8mm reels. It's a shame....best to you Mark.
If you knew what was going on beneath the glossy finish in Europe, you'd start to get really scared. All of "the west" is going down the drain fast now. I've seen my country degrade at an accelerating rate for a long time now, and unless the politicians turn around their corruption and ignorance real soon, it's gonna be like Soviet all over again.
After what happened in Norway they're pushing hard for it to be downright illegal to speak out against the governments madness. Freedom of speech, eh?
@MarctheDarc News to me! This is amazing! They are making the same mistakes all over again! and Norway? Why? because of some lone wolf nutter! No, I don't think you are at all wrong about this, Marc. You're right about the glossy finish though...I hardly knew...aside from the imminent corruption issues that are going to pop up from time to time. This is quite shocking. Tuesday isn't here yet, but...well...we've all had it! : (
@NickDrake101 The things i could tell you would curdle your blood.
A good example is that a few years ago, our biggest news network (pathetic compared to US ones mind you), released an intercepted document sent from the government here to all oncology departments in the country, instructing them to let 30% of all the cancerpatients die, because this would be the most financially viable.
The story ran for less than 2 hours, and was then deleted completely, no retraction or anything, just deleted.
@MarctheDarc The HMOs do a similar thing here right now..you probably already know: If you come into ICU with a life threating injury...and you don't have insurance...GOODBYE. 'Ummm the hospital you want is the community 20 miles in that direction.' No medicaid...no service....and that IS goodbye. That is, of course, the US health care HMO/PPO system that has been broken for years. You are right, though that story does surprise me..especially coming from Denmark..and then followed by a coverup!
@MarctheDarc Well, Marc you probably already heard: they've agreed to 2.4 trillion dollars in cuts. Obama glossed over the deal...which still has to be ratified by the senate. It's still only 2.4 trillion dollars in cuts. The credit ratings agency wants 4 trillion dollars in cuts! Obama did use the word "down-payment" and that is appropriate. In the meantime the US credit rating is about to be downgraded from Triple A to Double A statis. That will lead to another recession--no doubt!
@NickDrake101 Yeah i knew about the american system with insurance and such - i've heard jokes such as having your VISA ready if you're run over in the street... But here in denmark, it's supposed to be free and full service, payed over the taxes (98.8% of income mind you), and still, if you're elderly, unemployed, crippled or anything - each time you go to the hospital you risk getting killed by the doctors on purpose, because it's "financially viable".
@MarctheDarc Try this: you're unemployed--alone in a park and a tree limb fall down and knocks you unconscious. A "GOOD SAMARITAN" calls 911. :) Next, a PRIVATE ambulance service takes you to the nearest hospital. cost 2 thousand dollars. Next, the out of network hospital runs a battery of tests on you including an MRI. Price tag 50 thousand dollars. Two months later you get the bill from the ambulance service. Your HMO may or may not cover it and no with insurance..expect the collections agency
@NickDrake101 I ran out of room...The hospital expenses are usually covered by a deductible, but that's always changing and in certain areas a facility "out of network" might not be covered at all!!!! @@ The bottom line is here comes the collections agency! Garnish wages...installments...retirement savings...bankruptcy!
Another lovely detail here in denmark, we have a huge number of unemployed, around 1 million atleast. Not much by american scales, but we have around 6 million people total in the country, so that's 1/6. There's no jobs to be had, which is getting worse, and our government keep screaming that we need more immigrants because "we dont have enough workers"... How about getting the unemployed some jobs first yer f***tards?
@MarctheDarc Well, it passed, but...eh..they've just kicked the can down the road...so, in the not to distant future the usa will be "Greece 2". It's disgusting Marc!
@MarctheDarc So they don't do the VISA thing anymore...that way they can really run up the tab in the ambulance and then later at the "out of network" hospital. Talk about "RED INK".
I pay my bills on time - why can't they! We'll end being a third world country at this rate. RED alert for sure! You've expressed what we're all feeling. Leave it to YOU Walt!
@buniluvr I know...I know! That's the nail on the head Julie! Like I was saying to Gian..I'm not one for political songs but COME-ON! Why?? This country has become an embarrassment! They wait until the 11th hour and then say..well we do have to fix this thing. Excuse me? what? >.< Regardless so long economy..and that's just the tip of the iceberg. If the Great Society watched this "play of clowns" that call themselves congress They'd be memorized with astonished disbelief! Anyway thanks Julie :)
Very orginal concept Walt (and quite timely, I have spent the Sunday reading about the debt ceiling). Generally I'm not easy to be sucked up into the contents of the lyrics, because most of times it isn't worth it, but this time I was polarized to the semantics of your song as well as to the musical structure. And I have to say the piece is a very solid compound of ideas. Great work.
@Deisinoful Hi Gian...political songs have never been my favourite forms of expression through music...for the simple reason that they become immaterial shortly after they are written. Now, the debt ceiling...I thought about this...and thought. Well, the answer is: it might go away...but it leaves behind a putrid, suffocating pile that we will never be able to clear the decks of...not in this lifetime anyway. I am embarrassed. The great society would roll over with disbelief! Thanks Gian!
Brilliant original Walt ! Very, very topical and the lyrics are spot on.....the politicians should have a listen to this asap ! I can see this becoming a bit of an anthem, especially the Get Off chorus ! 10/10.
@STEVEL361 Ha ha I like that Steve! though, it would probably go over their heads...they would be required to get out of their sandbox for 5 minutes and..."use their heads and work on what I'm on about". It's too much of them..nope, they are not so capable. Usually, I don't gravitate towards the soapbox, but this seemed like a good time to start. Thanks Steve!
@NickDrake101 Does Congress have a Youtube channel ? If so I'd post it up there Walt ! This song has a sentiment many people are feeling all around the world...not just in America....Politicians...aarrgghh ! Grow up guys ( and gals ) it's not a game, it's people's lives for generations to come that you are messing with !
@STEVEL361 Great idea Steve..I believe that they do! Steve, your sentiments express what we all feel. It speaks volumes. I'm proud that I did this project. I'll try and post a video response if possible too.
@NickDrake101 You should be proud Walt....these politicians just don't live in the real world and have no idea of the impact of their decisions on individuals and families they purport to represent. I'm not usually into politics but I just see this country going rapidly down the pan...and we are not alone. When the last person leaves the country please turn out the lights !!
@STEVEL361 Perfectly expressed Steve...well..I posted a channel comment on John Boehner's channel: at least he had the decency/balls to allow channel comments. I'll give him credit for that...next, well midnight is rapidly approaching. This congress should formally apologize one by one to the people of the world for their gross disregard and disrespect of the ideals of people everywhere.
your best vocoder sound to date ....great work / song ...reminds me of the style of LAURIE ANDERSON who i love,a very clever lady.....love the video ..a top package
Good Morning Walt!
I remember this song :) I think we need to start a revolution!!
Thanks for fighting the fight!
cheers,
julie
