If you know the shape of the flywheel, that the man who built Coral Castle designed and with which he obviously used to move large stones, well all the geometry within the art looks to be depicting a similar design.
Human history recorded in art. The greatest event in human history with the greatest impact on this earth has the been the birth and death of Jesus Christ. Think what you will about the truth in your own life but know that in mankind's history this is the greatest story ever told by the art. Jesus lived and died according to the gospels which record the Word given to us by our creator. Art communicated the message and has preserved as evidence of Jesus' life.
@LiddieJane Jesus' last words on the cross, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" hardly seem like the words of a man who planned it that way. It doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to figure there is something wrong here. We must question the story logic of having an all-knowing all-powerful God, who creates faulty Humans, and then blames them for his own mistakes. God would have never let his son die if he was really all-powerful.
In response to 13mns, in as much as I agree that modern man must insist on religious art relevant to our century & art which is historical honest, I also believe it is important to understand the style and intention of the work at each established time. It in and of itself holds great value.
I would not consider the art within the tombs to be aesthetically accurate, but its placement & purpose still hold impact today. It did for me.
Most of the early christian art you show is theatric stagecraft to awe the masses, and glorify the state. Christ is not shown realistically as a poor man but as an aristocrat. King = Christ = God.
Another theme is magic + mysticism = religion.
Yes some of the artwork shown is aesthetically appealing, but modern man must insist on religious art relevant to our century and art which is historically honest.
Let us not become so mesmerized by tradition that we kill spirituality.

I love this man's style of instruction. It's as if he is sharing secrets, wonderful bits of information that he knows you should understand.
It's unique and has a style to it. He also shows a respect and love for the art that is so very refreshing.

An artist who doesn't know what and / or who a genius is, is the same thing as a Christian who doesnt know what and / or who the Christ is.
Cheers!!!
