Excellent video! Don't forget Western Auto on Main street. I got my bicycle tires there all the time. Also, Berry's hardware store, downtown T.R. What a store! Everything in one place! And always get your meats at one of these fine butcher shops, Disbrow's, Schwarz's, or Wood's meat markets! And for a quick lunch and newspaper, The Sweet Shop on Main street, run by Benny Carrol and John Schenone.
Now gas up for 29.9/gal at the Flying A station, run by Joe Stanley, and be on your way !
Great video and I liked the song. Thanks. I grew up in Toms River, left 17 years ago. This clip brought back lots of memories and I thought of many things that I have not in many, many years,I worked many summers on the Boardwalk ( Seaside Heights ). Good times for sure. Thanks again.
I live in Toms River. It has changed from once a small town to the 7th largest city in NJ with the climate of North Jersey and NYC, since may of them have moved here. It is still a nice place yet some don't like it being so urbanized and crowded as it has become. To me Ocean and Monmouth Counties are generally still one of the best places to live in NJ, but it has become expensive. If you can afford to live here, then you will have a nice place to live.
I grew up it TR when we had 1 High School, and west of the Garden State was all woods. It was a great place to grow up. During the winter there was NO traffic on 37 after 7 pm, absolutely NONE!
