what is better for mudding and rock crawling (mostly mudding)? a cj5 or cj7? i want the 258 i6 engine. and i cant decide which is better.

CJ 7 has a longer wheel base and should do better int he mud.. but it really depends on how you build it.. all jeeps can handle mud.. if there build right. and the 258 is an ok engine but for power in mud.. its not great.. swap it out for a 360.

35" Goodyear MTR, 5" suspension lift + 3" body lift, engine standard CJ7 4.2 litre straight six.

not the most extreme offroading but fun all the same. The CJ had a 4 inch suspension lift plus a 2 inch body lift and was running on custom made parabolic leaf springs and articulated pretty well considering that it was an everyday road car too that complied with UK road laws and not just an offroader that was trailered to the event.

There is no rock crawling to speak of in the UK, our terrain is generally muddy so extremes of articulation don't help much.
