Its happened to me too.

Now I have a back up sump pump and battery back up for the pumps. I don't have floor drains so sewer back up is not as much an issue.

Tough luck man I feel for you 1 flood after a storm in 01 left me just like that.....

ok 1 thing never ever walk around the basement full of water with a t.v on and electricity on

yeah...i was gonna mention that , but when we had our first flood i did the same thing, hubby was SO pissed at me. I was not thinking, just in shock.

wow...i feel for you! ive been through this 3 times in 20 yrs, but we lucked out on sunday. Our basement is NOT finished b/c we never know when this could happen again. maybe the city should stop "beautifying" downtown & start fixing thier aging infastructure? Good luck with the clean up. ;-(
