  • Lovely playing indeed!

  • @MrGraham001 thanks.

  • I love the playing, the guitar and the sound. Could you please tell me how the three sensors are placed on the soundboard?

  • @DuskY1991 Thanks for your comment, three pickup senser are to be placed between each pair of strings on the bridge plate inside the guitar.(between E A, D G & B E)

  • @patrickchong2002 Oh i see! Excellent, thanks! Do you know anything about a new revision of the Mini that allows you to set the level for the individual sensors?

  • @DuskY1991 Oh, that would be nice, let me check it out and get one.

  • a shame in the recording we hear the acoustic guitar not allowing us to only hear the mic

  • Mic ?? What mic ??

  • @patrickchong2002 Pickup excuse me ,-)

  • @smartti1970 I did mentioned before I plugged the guitar to my AER AMP and use my DV 's internal mic to record the sound, I turn the volume so high that its only record the sound through the amp.

  • highlander pickup is better , most natural sound

  • I'd never try Highlander pickup did you have any demo?

  • @patrickchong2002

yes look in my channel , Assasination of John Fahey

  • I play a lot of worship music and do some heavy strumming sometimes mostly moderate, im looking for a good acoustic pickup for my epiphone ej200, would you recommed this pickup?

  • @kc24jack Sure, it will works fine on your ej200.

  • @kc24jack Ive used the K&K mini pickup, plus the K&K mic and trinity preamp in a Vintage J200 copy for worship. Works well. The addition of the mic gives you a warmer sound and helps to balance the output of the high strings.

  • @perrins57 Yes, I also use it on my other Martin D42 and 0016 DBFM, its sound so natural and full.

  • aer is killer...does the k & k use a battery ?

  • Yes, AER amp was so good. K&K doesn't need a battery as it is passive but with powerful output, it can be upgrade to dual source by adding a silver bullet mic and a preamp.

  • Is the sound coming from an acoustic amp? If so, it's very nice. I use a Crate Gunnison and a Trace Elliot TA40R.

  • Yes, I use an AER Alpha acoustic amp in this video, thanks for watching.

  • Hey, that's great!

If you've got the tab for that, I'd love to have it.

  • Very cool sound, what kind of guitar is that?

  • This is a Martin 00028vs guitar, 12 frets model, watch your video and your recording was very professional not to mention your guitar playing technique, thanks for sharing.

  • Lovely playing sir. Don't happen to have the tabs for that do you? :)

  • I think I still have it.

  • That would be really cool if so. Can send you my email address if you are able to attach? There is a tab available on the web, but it doesn't seem to be the same version.

  • That was beautiful and played perfectly! A very natural sound with the K & K. This is my preferred pickup on my guitar also.

  • Thanks, yes, K & K is very good at this price.

  • what song is this? good job

  • Thanks, this tune is " The water is wide "

  • Hey sounds great! 5 stars

I am trying to decide between the Mini and the Mini Trinity for playing live and recording. Any particular reason why you didn't buy the Trinity?

  • I think the Mini Trinity surely are the best choice, but the reason I choose this passive mini is its simplicity, and no battery is needed.

  • Thanks for reply. Yeah I heard the batteries run out fast on the trinity. I need it for live gigging and worried that I may need the control of a preamp.

  • I had never tried on the Trinity, but you may check from K & K sound if the Trinity still works passive if the battery run out, otherwise a preamp is still no use unless you change the battery first.

  • yeah for sure. i dont want the hassle of feedback or daed batteries so i am thinking of going with the mini, and maybe adding a volume control. just wish they had a tone control too..that would be perfect.

  • sounds great, better than the fishman pick up option?

  • The advantage of this pickup is no battery is needed. You may choose which one is up to yur taste.

  • I mean they are both good pickup but with different character.

  • great playing...and great sound...amazing...I´m thinking about getting a K&K Pure Western Mini picuup myself, for my Martin D-35 and other for my Guild Gad M20...

one question ....my fear....after installing it...is there any loss of tone...any loss of the acoustic natural tone when played unplugged?

  • There is no change in using this pickup since you don't need to alter anything on you guitar, it just stick on the bridge plate inside the guitar and you only need to drill a 1/2 inch hole in the end block.

  • Can you tell please us which "Western Mini" system you are using? Is this the "Pure Western Mini" (passive) system, or the "Ultrapure Western Mini" (active) system? Thanks.

  • I am using the Pure Western Mini here.

  • Sounds like you're playing a sreel string in the same room!

  • It is because this Martin 00028VS is a steel strings guitar.

  • Hi I really love this tune, that Ed Gerhard plays beautiful, but I know now he is not the only one to play this one so nicely!!!

Congrats!!! I love this Martin Guitar too (000 & 00, 12 frets are really cool).

Very nice style and full of soul!

    Congrats from Paris France,

    Chhers,

    Chris

  • Thanks.

  • Sounds really good... I'm a big fan of the K&K products myself. Waaaay more acoustic sounding than a lot of its competition.

  • Yes, I stalled it in most of my Martin now.

  • What are you running the signal through? Is it just the strait pickup or are you using a DI or preamp?

  • I just plug it into my AER Alpha Acoustic guitar amp and record it through my DV cam internal microphone.

  • perfect

Is there a source for the tab?

Use finger picks (if yes, what type)or finger nails?

    Thanks

  • I just use my finger nails most of the time. You may try using the name of this song to search in goolgle its there.
