Luv this song, and I really liked this series but they stopped airing it over in UK after the 2nd season I think. Becus of the boring mainstream people over here, they'll watch Desperate housewives cus thats seen as normal, but becus this seires is bout bigamy they wont. I like that this series is about that becus it is a real Issue that does go on in America and even in the UK I think.
What was the series ending song to close the series? Yip, it went back to the old song which was covered by someone else. Add the songs and the timing along with the show. You have Big Love.
They changed the intro in the fourth season knowing that there were going to be five seasons. I think the change was smart and the new intro was more fitting. Big Love was well done including the music. Changing the intro to fit the last two seasons was very well done.
I wish whoever was in charge would have learned the basic lesson in life, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." This opener was perfect, far superior to the one they replaced it with. Not that the new one is bad, just this one is better.
On the other hand, the new one makes me sad, which is guess is appropriate being this was one of my favorite shows and it's ending.

I felt like this sequence always had me starting this show with a cuddly sort of feeling and a desire to see this family make it work. Though the new one fit the tone, it also set a sort of morose mood for me as a viewer. I liked this sweeter opening.
I miss this theme. I would love it if they brought it back for the final season. The new opening is sharp but whenever I think of the show, I will remember The Beach Boys music and this opening rather than the newer, darker one.

@MjoelH that is a wrong thing to say because thats your opinion and that is people's religion. i dont agree with having more that one spouse but you should never make fun of other people's religion.
The original theme is more straightforward ("God only knows") and silly (ice cracking = family problems.) But some Mormons have noted the ties to scripture -- the way their Heaven becomes celestial. ...That said, the new theme is more epic and emotional, something the series deserves in later seasons.

Though I'm pretty sure Nikki will fight tooth and nail for her marriage with Bill, only cause that's how she is. Hah.
