Unbelievable talent, and an unbelievably approachable and cool guy. What being a musician should really be about... He's going to be doing a FREE clinic at my store - Palen Music Center (Springfield, MO) on March 23rd - I can NOT wait!!! :-)
The control he has on all his gear is completely insane. The last few minutes is just fooling around. Does anyone know how he makes that *PAH* sound on the snare in the beginning?
@rawkarpojk Yeah dude, its the drumbal cymbal he invented,. es that nuts he ade a cymbal to play on top of a drum!!!! Awsome drumer, nice sense of umor aswell.
@rawkarpojk He has a meinl drumbal on the snare. It's a small effects cymbal that can be used for lots of effects by placing it on top of a drum and hitting it in differen't ways
Just an amazing drummer. I love how easy he makes it look. He's playing stuff most drummers can only dream about playing and makes it look like it takes no effort at all. Also he seems to be very happy behind the set always smiling and having fun with the crowd. I love his style. No cockiness, just great drumming. I always enjoy watching him play.
He's amazing !! I saw him and Marco Minneman play Wipeout together in the little basement of the Nottingham Drum Centre a few years ago......it was staggering how good they were!!
Ive met Rabb, funny as hell and genuine person. Mad props for his dnb shtuff. a great teacher when he plays, you can see his creativity unfolding as he performs.
pdp drums are under the division of dw but they're not purely assembled in the US unlike DWs, that's why pdp is cheaper. some PDPs are assembled in mexico, some in china. but i dont think the quality is compromised. every brand of drum has its own character, it just depends on your preferences.
pacific drums makes a high quality drumset, they have come along way since there introduction. they are owned by DW and the same amount of precision and craftsmanship go into making these drumes. i own a pdp set myself and i love it.
I had a PDP CX. Didn't like it at all, even with Evans EMADS on the bass. Bass wasn't thick enough for me. I enjoy the Gretsch Catalina Birch. Cheaper and, man, does it sing!
Really? I have a kit with the two add-on toms and I have Evans EC2 heads (with moongel dampening). I couldn't possibly love any kit any more than my pdp!
LOL, I agree with you... I often watch videos where some comments say "you should practice more"... No doubt practice will help, but sometimes you just have to know your limits... Some have it, some don't....
Sick as usual. He should get training and take back teh world fastest singles from Mike Mangini. His stuff with ten finger orchestra is worth checking out.
He started life as a session drummer in Nahsville. He played country, rock, funk, jazz, anything. I guarentee if you listen to much music, you WOULD have heard an album he has recorded. The stuff he does now is incredibly gimmicky, used to impress those technically minded drummers, and he uses it in a lot of drum n bass and dance songs to replicate drum machines.
I have a roland TD-12 and i can do those rolls on it to a certain degree. the drums are a bit too small for it to work all nice, cause my stick goes almost from rim to the other rim while doing it, but it is possible. I've seen rabb do it on 8 inch toms of the TD12...
good drummer nothing to say but, he is so arrogant while he plays his instruments

he has a splash cymbal on top of the snare.
brock1129 2 years ago
its his drumble, a cymbal that he puts over his snare which gives him reverb and tonal control... he invented it.
you can see him fucking with it in the top mirror starting at 1:16

@rawkarpojk dude i think its a "drumble" a cymbal he uses where he places it on the head and does his magic with it.
RoR0RoRoR0RoR0R0 1 year ago
@rawkarpojk if you look at the over head mirror. and then to his central snare drum. its a drumble :P

@rawkarpojk I guess this is is a little late of a reply but, the sound comes from him putting a small splash cymbal on the snare drum.
