  • good drummer nothing to say but, he is so arrogant while he plays his instruments

  • Anyone who wants to see johnny raab hit up any Biodiesl show. the shows are intimate and its everything you could ever want in a live show

  • I want to see him do a blast beat so bad. It would be sick.

  • he started throwing them triplets in a 2:30 something... I think I came.

  • All that's missing is some white face paint and red rubber ball for a nose...

  • to everyone replying to rawkarpojk's comment, it was over a year ago, im sure he knows by now

  • @SharkMako Thank you :)

  • the grooves at 3:57 and 4:47 give me chills

  • Talk about a "MODERN DRUMMER" master.

  • 4:50< wow...

  • Is there any reason to play like this lol he's a great drummer

  • MORe COWBELL

  • Verrry nice. And fresh! Wooohooo

  • fai pià bè!!!!

  • sei l' eroina della drum and bass!!!!!

  • sei l' eroina della drum and bass!!!

  • Unbelievable talent, and an unbelievably approachable and cool guy. What being a musician should really be about... He's going to be doing a FREE clinic at my store - Palen Music Center (Springfield, MO) on March 23rd - I can NOT wait!!! :-)

  • Watching johnny rabb makes me want to play drums 24/7 whenever i dont feel like playing i watch a video of rabb going crazy and its back outside :D

  • holy shit the guy at the bottom right corner of the sound shield freaked me out

  • I've never seen this dude before - I wanted to see what the new Roland kit I'm getting is like and Johnny was doin the demo!

He's amazing - a breath of fresh air and not an arrogant bone in his body - what an awesome drummer!!!

  • thiz guy is feakin''' awesome.....:)

  • The control he has on all his gear is completely insane. The last few minutes is just fooling around. Does anyone know how he makes that *PAH* sound on the snare in the beginning?

  • He puts a splash cymbal on the snare drum with the snare off. Extreme!

  • its actually called a 'drumball' but yeah its pretty much a splash cymbal. i want one. haha

  • he has a splash cymbal on top of the snare.

  • its his drumble, a cymbal that he puts over his snare which gives him reverb and tonal control... he invented it.

you can see him fucking with it in the top mirror starting at 1:16

  • @rawkarpojk Yeah dude, its the drumbal cymbal he invented,. es that nuts he ade a cymbal to play on top of a drum!!!! Awsome drumer, nice sense of umor aswell.

  • @rawkarpojk He has symbal on his snare drum. He calls it drumbal.

  • @rawkarpojk dude i think its a "drumble" a cymbal he uses where he places it on the head and does his magic with it.

  • @rawkarpojk if you look at the over head mirror. and then to his central snare drum. its a drumble :P

  • @rawkarpojk I guess this is is a little late of a reply but, the sound comes from him putting a small splash cymbal on the snare drum.

  • @rawkarpojk he has a small hand cymbal on his snare that he hits. that's one of his signatures.

  • @rawkarpojk He has a meinl drumbal on the snare. It's a small effects cymbal that can be used for lots of effects by placing it on top of a drum and hitting it in differen't ways

  • @rawkarpojk He has a small cymbal with a handle on it that he hits the drum with. not sure what it's called though...

  • @rawkarpojk with a drumbal he put's on the snare :)...

  • @rawkarpojk

he has something similar to a splash laying on the skin of the snare

  • @rawkarpojk rimshot i believe.

  • @rawkarpojk He has a little splash cymbal on the snare, when he hits snare, then the splash is bouncing. That's how you get that sound.

  • @rawkarpojk it's a drumbal.. it's a special Meinl cymbal thing he's using in the whole vid haha

  • This is like proper drum n bass man iniit

  • how does he have his snare mounted on the hi hat stand? or is the snare stand just blocked by that grey panel?

  • this guy has the groove technique and the stage presence.......... hero

  • sugoooi *.*

  • Just an amazing drummer. I love how easy he makes it look. He's playing stuff most drummers can only dream about playing and makes it look like it takes no effort at all. Also he seems to be very happy behind the set always smiling and having fun with the crowd. I love his style. No cockiness, just great drumming. I always enjoy watching him play.

  • boooom, he's my idol

  • you can see benny greb through the glass. =]

  • how the fuck does he gravity blast the hi hat.

  • He doesn't do gravity blast, he does the 'free-hand'. Look how ther' chiago 2008 drum show, he does a demo of both.

  • 5:36 beeessttt!

  • 2:58 is the shit!! :D

  • wow, he gravity blasts all. Even the hihat

  • He's amazing !! I saw him and Marco Minneman play Wipeout together in the little basement of the Nottingham Drum Centre a few years ago......it was staggering how good they were!!

  • WOULD YOU COME OUT WITH A VIDEO ALREADY? Damn man, Im tired of waiting for your stuff. I need CD´s and videos.

  • what a tank

  • Thats mah boy!!

  • I LOVE how chill he is when he plays.

  • Hes just cool to watch, making faces and such. And so much control.!!

  • That's what she said.

  • wow, just wow. can it be more developed?

    hes amazing, my favourite nr1!

  • this man is amazing.

  • wow thats tricky, nice

  • That was amazing. Simple.

  • johnny, please do a seminar in new york sam ash music 48 st. manhattan people would love to see you perform.

  • Ive met Rabb, funny as hell and genuine person. Mad props for his dnb shtuff. a great teacher when he plays, you can see his creativity unfolding as he performs.

  • OMFG... He is awesome

  • I dont understand how drummers at his level have such a sense of time..Its like they have a metronome built into their body

  • oh dip..

  • pdp drums are under the division of dw but they're not purely assembled in the US unlike DWs, that's why pdp is cheaper. some PDPs are assembled in mexico, some in china. but i dont think the quality is compromised. every brand of drum has its own character, it just depends on your preferences.

  • does he actually use the safari line of cymbals? cause i never hear them

  • um yea. they're his signature cymbals haha. he's using them in this video lol

  • pacific drums makes a high quality drumset, they have come along way since there introduction. they are owned by DW and the same amount of precision and craftsmanship go into making these drumes. i own a pdp set myself and i love it.

  • I had a PDP CX. Didn't like it at all, even with Evans EMADS on the bass. Bass wasn't thick enough for me. I enjoy the Gretsch Catalina Birch. Cheaper and, man, does it sing!

  • Really? I have a kit with the two add-on toms and I have Evans EC2 heads (with moongel dampening). I couldn't possibly love any kit any more than my pdp!

  • why johnny rabb uses pacific?

  • Incredible.

  • YES!!!!!!!!!

  • Sick!

  • impressive. . .mad re$pect

  • if you listen to tho old school of jazz drummers, the OLD school

you´ll see this guy has the mark of a truly genious

  • I just have to laugh at the 4:48 mark. If I practiced for 5 years straight I still could not pull that sh*t off. He's nuts.

  • LOL, I agree with you... I often watch videos where some comments say "you should practice more"... No doubt practice will help, but sometimes you just have to know your limits... Some have it, some don't....

  • Oh, and an absolutely inspirational display of talent here btw... Awesome....

  • WHAT A SICK ITS A TRICKERY? :D or wtf? omg its c00l! 1337! maybe the source of real dnb comes from him

  • my fave drummer right now, this guy rocks

  • oh shiit this guy is fucking Rad and ive never even heard of him before! where have i bin!?

  • El poder de la liberación de la mente. un espectáculo

  • Hye is that Benny Grebb in the background?

  • Sick as usual. He should get training and take back teh world fastest singles from Mike Mangini. His stuff with ten finger orchestra is worth checking out.

  • very good, but i bet he can't put a fruit pastel in his mouth without chewing it

  • Johnny Rabb is a machine.

  • How is he so good at freehanding. Dude's amazing at that. Probably loads of practice, or maybe just the way he does it. I hate him! Talented Freak!

  • i love him!!! just met him at the winter NAMM! greetings from ricoloop

  • Johnny Rabb owns. Dj's sucks! \m/

  • respect

  • JR drum n bass drummer...excellent drummer and great guy. Seen him at a drum clinic, real gentleman.

  • dammit, i cn do it wiv 1 hand, i wish i cud do it wiv bof

  • Absolutely amazing! His style has a crazy techno vibe to it.

  • his singles actually give buddy rich competition... id love to see rabb and rich in a battle... the snare and hi-hat stuff would be crazy

  • a one man marching band. all u haters are just jealous. u guys can't even get to half his speed. go suck a drumstick

  • a one man marching bad. all u haters are just jealous. u guys can't even get to half his speed. go suck a drumstick

  • hell yeah you said it

  • for a non musician - good thing!

  • technically excellent, but i would like to see him in band context.

  • He started life as a session drummer in Nahsville. He played country, rock, funk, jazz, anything. I guarentee if you listen to much music, you WOULD have heard an album he has recorded. The stuff he does now is incredibly gimmicky, used to impress those technically minded drummers, and he uses it in a lot of drum n bass and dance songs to replicate drum machines.

  • cont: He is taking the world away from using samplers, and getting dj's back into using live drummers, every drummer should thank him for that.

  • @N3maN amen to that!

  • Hold on now,he trained mike mangini lol.

  • dont compare him to mike mangini cause is different and would still kick your asses on the set

  • good art man!!!

  • GOOD BUT NEXT TIME PUT ON A CLOWN SUIT

  • If you like speed (and control), check out Mike Mangini.

  • Dont get me wrong... technically probably the bes form drummer alive... his speed?! omg!... but i just find myself getting bored with his beats.

  • I'd have to agree. I wish he used more accents. but he is very fluid.

  • ha you fucken nailed it. he needs to do some groovin arouund the set and but this 1000 plus strokes per minute to use

  • hm, i think the technical best drummer is still thomas lang. johnny rabb is best in free handed roll. but they are both great drummers.

    Johnny Rabb, yeah

  • I have never seen anyone used the onehanded roll so musical

  • amazing

  • beautiful

  • love them one handed rolls, I wish!

  • I know. I only have an electronic set as well. I wish I could at least try.

  • I have a roland TD-12 and i can do those rolls on it to a certain degree. the drums are a bit too small for it to work all nice, cause my stick goes almost from rim to the other rim while doing it, but it is possible. I've seen rabb do it on 8 inch toms of the TD12...
