  • Hey thats my lake thats pen lake in the bay by deerhurst

  • sock srx will win but if u but the triple pipes on the viper is will beat the srx

  • I have not lost against a Srx 700 yet. I own/ owned a stock Viper.

  • fuckin power valves i did the same thing with my 01 srx

  • what would be better for trail/river riding a Viper or srx im looking to buy one or the other

  • @3rd4thgenFbody srx

  • 02 viper should be faster than a 98 srx..

  • @MalikarVampire

Nope. 98' SRX 700 is rated at 135+hp, 02' SXViper is rated at 120+hp. That extra 12-15 ponies will make all the difference. Even the 98' or 99' SRX 600 (125hp) would whoop on a 700 Viper.

  • @netefrog Your right for the 700, but viper are faster then 600 srx , i can take a 600 with my mtn viper farly easy but not 700 srx ...

  • @netefrog 98 srx have 137hp and 2000 srx and more have 142hp,if i remember correctely the sx viper have 120hp

  • now if you triple piped jetted and reclutched an sxviper that might be a differant race, but than again you do all that you got an srx pretty much so what the point?just get an srx i could buy two srxs up for what it would cost you to get viper and bring it up to srx specs.

  • @drauglintuor the srx mtn has a biger suspension than stock like 2 inches and 14 inche longer track

  • hey, "joeythepope," i think youre a little confused, the sxr is a trail sled, they have less travel than the srx, the srx is a "race" sled, sxr is a "trail" sled, whitch means in part that the shock setup that you did is good if youre looking for a "comfort" ride, both sleds are like riding a 2x4 anyway. Merry Christmas.

  • Not true I have a 98 MSRX that was mostly sold in the west it has I believe 12" travel in the back and I believe 8" travel in the front the thing hauls butt and rides like the Caddy of sleds. I know a guy who has an older RMK 700 he took it for a ride and I almost had to force him to switch back to his ride from hell.

  • yeah, my siss has one with a Hawk Performance setup, its 160 HP to the track. Clutched, fully piped, jetted and a few other minor things, it rippes your face off.

  • your sister holy shit!!! what do you get to ride then. haha

  • like always viper won i have one it,s all pimped out it has a paddle track on it and a cann

  • @Yamaha700rRaptor funny my buddys 01 sx viper has yet to beat my 98 srx were both clutched and studded. we race across my friends field(roughly 1/4 mile)i take him by several lengths

  • Spoken as a true Newfoundlander.

  • Yeah it should but I run synthetic and still have carbon build up in the power valves.

  • fuck thats enoying the way you type and prob talk..........

  • the SRX 700 will go 120 mph stock in the right conditions.

  • nop sx 120 srx 148

  • Those are two of the most amazing skidoos ever made. i own an SRX and i will have a viper ASAP. LONG LIVE THE YAMAHA 700 TRIPPLE!!!!!

  • the only thing that ive heard about the viper, is the srx has 3 different exhausts for the three pistons k? and then the viper doesnt have three, just one big one, or something similar i havent looked but thats what i hear, and you loose horse power bc of that. and the middle piston overheats.. so idk aobut the truth of it, but thats what i hear.. i just bought an srx a couple days ago. beautiful sled.

  • Yeah the srx comes stock with triple pipes. You can buy the triple pipes for the viper but i dont think they come stock. And actually the '98 srx was known for loosing the center piston before the other two.

  • Thats because the outer two runs at the same rate as the center piston but the - thing is the center piston gets more hotter from the outer two, meaning: the heat needs someplace to go so it stays in the center piston longer than the outer two.

  • Yeah that makes sense. Thanks for the tip!

  • Ah, no problem. I was willing to take some time to explain it though.

  • you are right the sx700r and the 600 r came with single pipe along with the viper and venom with my sxr 700 i come close to beating a srx 700 the other day at the grass drags and he was stock and i have some mods

  • Your SXR is a very nice sled too. It is a much better trail sled than the SRX , because it has longer travel rear shocks. I actually have SXR 600 shocks on my SRX. Beefed the rear end up a fair bit I must say.

  • yah i sold the sled turns out it had to much horse power for me haha so bought a 99 xc 500 polaris perfect for on on the count that im 15

  • Ah you should'nt have done that. You can never have to much horsepower haha. If I were you I would have gotten an MXZ 440, '99 or newer. They are very light and aren't real fast but are VERY fun to drive. There geared the same as the summit so they are great on the start.

  • what to much power i was 13 when i got mine fully studed and i have always held that thing wide down the lake

  • hahaha yah my dad was pissed when i sold it but the guy wanted it more than i did

  • Turds!

  • I own the viper in this video, i have it piped now and it hit 143hp on the dino and my buddies srx still beats me but he has it dialed the only reason I pulled him in this video is because he pulled a cord through 1 of his power valves

  • my viper won but the srx is faster usually, he pulled a cord on 1 of his power valves you can here him letting off

  • Yeah I pulled the chord on one of my powervalves last season. Got to keep cleaning out the valves or they build up with carbon and get jammed. They are supposed to be self cleaning but you should clean them every 1000kms or so.

  • What kind of oil do you use???...I run Amsoil Interceptor and find that it really helps keep the Power Valves clean and in good running order. (I also ALWAYS run Premium fuel) ........it's deff worth the extra money, I buy a two 4L jugs of it every fall and it gets me through the winter.....

  • I use Castrol synthetic, because thats what the guy who sold me the snowmobile said that he has always used it and its great. And premium fuel is a must with these machines, the higher octane burns better and keeps the engine cleaner while providing more power. I have actually never seen Amsoil in any of the shops around here but I hear its great. If I ever see it around i'll definately switch to it.

  • Who gives a shit? I like them both anyways? =D

  • an sx viper is a trail sled, so of course its not guna beat a mach z, go get a yamaha srx 700 and race ur mach z and see what happens, the srx set the world record for fastest stock sled back when first introduced in 1998

  • I own a '98 SRX with a '02 engine, my uncle has a '04 viper. I love both of these ski-doos and plus they have a lot of balls, but the viper would be faster because of a few reasons, mostly because it has newer technology and it's lighter.

  • hi all i have a viper and i eat all the srx in the area no problem ! when a viper loose it's because the settings are not right

i have stock , seting right

there is no way in the world that an srx older wins , yamaha put on the market a better sled every year so wtf srx older wins

i see here viper wins !!! check the light .

  • who won

  • i have both as well and the SRX wins in ANY conditions...there should be no comparison at all!

  • stock they both should be even, but take them to the hills and see who wins, the srx has a terrible track angle.

  • I have them both and a stock Viper will not hang with an SRX 700 period....

  • SRX wins in part one by a long shot.

  • Don't think so. 00:28 - dual headlight left side (Viper), single headlight right side (SRX). Sounds like he lifted a couple time to boot! GO VIPER!

  • and the SRX wins :) atleast thats how I saw it ;)
