If you didn't know. There are 4 ways that foam extinguishes fires and it does it by: Seperating, Cooling, Smothering, and Penetrating. Plus, you do not want to get foam on your skin or in your eyes. It will irritate both your skin and your eyes and used to be very hazardous to the enviornment. (It was made out of animal byproducts.)

Having first hand Experience with this test I can tell you that it operated perfectly. The time limit was Excessive for this test but that is what the AHJ wanted. 4 Mins of discharge equaled Hrs of clean up. I will admit nice song add to the edited power point presentation. Thanks for the new spin. I will add this one to my collection of the many others that are on the web.
It was supposed to be a test, as in IT WOULD SHUT OFF. so don't call other people idiots if you don't even know what it was supposed to do in a test situation in the first place.

The foam is supposed to kill the fire by asphyxiating it. So by definition: no. (The weight of the foam is making it difficult to make air pockets)
What's more of a problem is that the foaming molecules are highly nocive and some are even staying in your body of virtually forever (like lead).

Precisely what should have happened.
AFFF systems in hangars are supposed to toally fill the compartment, in order to smother flames.
They have a set time limit to do so, based on NFPA codes.
Further, the systems are such that the pumps don't shut down after set times; they run until someone in authority shuts them down.
Many controllers do have a test feature that allows for limited runs, but you'd best know how to set them.
Looks like a successful test to me.
