Is BBC HD free? I have yet to get a HD Tv and am trying to find an excuse to buy one...

It's a free-to-air HD Channel, but to get it for free you need either a Sky+HD box (You don't need a subsciption to view it) or a Freesat HD Box.

ITV and C4 get some money, but nowhere near as much as the BBC. And the BBC's cash explosion on ads is on many of their activities. Just look at a Radio 1 TV advert and the money spent on that. That doesn't help BBC Worldwide.

My wife, Jenn Belander, had a small part in this (reacting to vase coming out of window at around 1 minute). She had a great time! The production crew, esp. the assistant director and stylist were fantastically cool people. You can also catch Jenn's showreel on youtube under "a belander showreel".

This is an amazing video, very well done. BUT, it shocks me once again how much money the BBC spends on adverts just to promote its own activities on its own channels. So much of our money is spent on self congratulation.

well considering that the majority of the BBC's funding now comes from the BBC Worldwide merchandise arm, and if they don't do trailers then many people won't be aware of the news shows they're spending their money on then they've every right to.
ITV and C4 already get a cut of the licence fee, and yet no-one whinges about them.
If you want to see a less expensive trailer search out the current top gear one

I was in this advert as an action extra, yes it was a great advert and excellant to be in it, although I am not shown in the final cut. :(

I saw this last night on BBC 2. Its amazing! It looks like great fun too. You don't normally see really cool things like this as adverts on the BBC.
