Though I am a die hard Ricardian-- I love anything having to do with Richard III and his various portrayals in media. I've heard from many places that this is the best film of its kind-- so thanks so much for sharing!
Tnkx alot for sharing friend :) i really like these old medieval films. Although they lack today's special effects & acting they still have that something that you don't find in today's movies. I can't really put my finger on it, maybe its more European spirit & dedication or better costumes or much more detailed knights.. For ex i just watched Spartacus:Venegeance ep 1 awesome effects, amazing acting but all focus is on the actors, some crappy huts in the background or all else animated.
0:41 good music. 0:50-1:05 good, say at start not historically accurate, but worth telling. I agree, is good film. Good review by Richard III Society website. Good actors, see my comment on last part. 3:14 sinister look. 4:05 Edward's 'fun'. Am looking at this peroid in history. Edward womaniser, liked pageantry. 2:34 onwards seems to be repeated in Part 12 of this film, they contrast well.
I don't like how all the characters look so old in this movie. Edward IV was only in his 40's when he died and Richard I believe was only 32 when he was killed, so at this point they all shouldn't look as old as they do lol.
6:52 clumsy herald. Mistake Larry kept in to symbolise accidental loss of crown. 7:568:04 running joke. 8:12, in 'we' go. 8:21 he looks past the Fourth Wall. 8:40 good speech, good style of speaking. 9:35 now to get on to the evil part. Very new to directly address film audience. But it works. Possibly Larry's greatest role, very hard to beat. Seems better then original play. The whole style of it is very pleasing to me.

What an excellent movie with an outstanding cast and directed by the great Sir Laurence Olivier.
