do you mind to tell me what kind of camera do you used for this, or any suggestion which camera is good for shooting in the pool like you did, thank you, or you can tell me by private msg,
@ViniBsb1973 - Eh... not entirely true. The outside to inside dolphin kick is a great technique to give a bit more whip to the legs, plus catch more water. It works in a similar way that keeping the fingers apart in the catch just a bit, to disturb the water between the fingers to create a larger pulling surface. While it's not great for everyone, keeping the legs absolutely together sometimes allows the legs to knife through the water a bit more. Just an opinion.
@goswim098 Thanks for the answer. I must tell you that I was a competitive swimmer in the lates 80's (I was 17 at that time). At that time, nobody used to do the dolphin kick. Then, after 20 years, I returned in 2010 and decided to learn how to use this tecnique. With an open mind (and not much information) I tried many ways of doing it. Now I know by own experience and many many tries that the most eficient dolphin kick is with knees together... I'm very convicted of it.
@ViniBsb1973 - Excellent. You've hit on exactly what the body of our work speaks of... finding the technique that works for you. I'm a bit older than you, and was on the Olympic team. While I can't do what I say either, and a straighter type of kick works for me at my older years... my more successful swimmers, and the Olympians I work with have the flexibility and power necessary to do what I'm talking about. Nothing is perfect for everyone, which is why I started my previous comments with.. eh
@goswim098 Thanks again! Wow! So you are such a great swimmer! I just got an 8th place at 50m freestyle at national championship in 1988. You're right. Most techniques must be adapted from person to person. Another thing that changed from my (our) time from today is the high elbow. I was very impressed watching ian thorpe. That shocked me and I'm trying to use it. In other words, just trying not to drop the hand so deep at the first phase of the catch. Greetings from Brazil!
you know absolutly nothing about swim then that gives them more power moving their legs like fans and seperating their knees if that helps them. you beat them.
very nice video... i need to get my dolphin kick like them. It's so hard to do it efficiently and right. easy to just bend the needs and power thru it.
if you look at phelps doing this his legs come some what dislocated and flop straight . if you look in this vid you see there ankels angeling back in .phelps stay straight you need to relese your snap like a fin .. not like you have ankels like humans, like dolphins

when she kicks down her legs, it seems the angle between her legs open more, is that something right?
but when she kicks faster her legs go up and down straightly
