That is not a Rainbow Snakehead. That's a juvenile Giant Snakehead (Channa Micropeltes). It grows to a max. of more than a metre, weighing over 40Lbs. Trust me, these fish are native in my country. And my information is definitely correct as I've been living with these fish since I was born. Cheers mate :-)

@TheLifeSource They're more dangerous to the safety of our ecosystems than to your relative safety, the MORE dangerous ones are hopefully, still in Asia, unless some careless f*ck decides to illegally toss several of them into the Mississippi River.

The worst thing that could probably happen to you is get sugical stitches.

1. The snakehead are top notch predators, they have eatin everything from mosquito fish to small turtles.

2. They can breed up to 5 times a year, able to lay I think around 5,000 young each time.

3. The snakehead nurse in pairs, both male and female take care of the young and they'll both defend their young from anything that poses a threat to them.

4. I hear the snakehead is very very tasty.

That is a giant snakehead juvenile, channa micropeltes. It grows huge mate. Tons of them here. I wouldn't even keep them as pets. Prefer other species that doesn't grow as huge.
