Best Friends, Real Friends

Today's day and age actual friends don't exist because of jealousy and envy. Everybody uses someone. Even worse if you live in the city. But like small towns in the U.S it's much easier to make friends because everyone knows each other and are very humble. Pick a friend whose SINCERE. Not one who uses you for an advantage.

What is a friend? A friend to me is someone you can always count on. To have a friend you first have to want to be a friend as well. A friend is also a person that does not put you last. Lots of people are friends so they say but never come bye or call. They want the friendship without any effert. These are the type of people I have attracted, I have not had a true friend in 20 years even though I put the effert out to meet people. Why is this? I just don't know what I am doing wronge?

absolutly true my best mate is definatly sum 1i can count on especially when i was hit by a morter round and lost both my legs he is now like family to me without him i would have been left there dead and in his efforts he sadly was hit by a few machine gun fire and has severe brain damage. war truley tests friendships and now i return the favour by doin my best to look after him

to me best friends are the ones you consider family... well actually my uncle is my bestest friend and he is family so I guess all my other best friends are... distant relatives.

and him and his gf live in massachusettes! the state above me! and they were more than happy to give me a ride back home! i mean my friend nick invited me out and bribed me to go! i already had my ticket so i went then later all of a sudden he cant fucking drive mee!?? it just doesnt make any sense but now im truly convinced hes not my real friend! nothing more than an associate now if hes gonna leave me places!

im glad i found this video it gives me understanding i fell i now know who my true friends are! i went out to a concert one night with a long time high school friend and when we went out to eat with our other friends he bitched and moanned about giving me a ride home we were about an hour or 45 minutes away from my home town! and he was going to leave me at the diner!! to call a family member to come and pick me up!! it was 2 o clock in the morn! so my TRUE! Best Friends (extended family): You condider them at least the best of your friends. At best, you would kill and/or die for them... sacrifice to avenge them... take up a cause to defend them... give them the shirt off your back even if that is all you got.

So yeah, Xaves. I do know who my friends are and their level of friendship. Those closest to me are very few.

My family was semi-nomadic and my blood family (save for one brother and his child) is now enstranged.

Long ago, I set parameters of what my friends and family are.

Contacts: People I know who know me. We may trade favors.

Acquaitences: Drinking buddies at best or the best contacts at least.

Friends: People who you are willing to do favors for and vice versa.

I'm very fortunate. I have a couple of the best friends this world can offer. One for over 20 years The other for the last 15. They are as close to me as family. I have many more very close friends but these two stand out from the crowd. When one of us needs something, no one is left wanting!

Ive only had 1 friend and I met her my first day in highschool nearly 30 years ago! Our kids have grown up together and are so close that they consider each other brothers and sisters! Now our grandchildren play together!
