  • now i know your passcode :)

  • I keep a machete next to the bed !! and a pre rolled joint for breakfast......each to his own !

  • Have you seen the video that shows a knife is quicker then a gun?

  • What if the fucker hits your in the head with the box on his way out?

  • @jgbelmont it is designed to prevent someone from gaining access to your pistol. if you keep a loaded firearm at home, the last thing you want is to come home to a burglar holding your gun. it does have a cable that you can use to lock it to a bed frame or some other object.

  • i hope you changed the combination after this video. since you said all of the safes have the same combination; just in case someone who watched your videos broke into your house.

  • If you are smart, you use all the keys, just so you don't have to wipe the buttons clean..

  • "You set the code and have instant access"

Hell!, I have instant access; my pistol is in an open-top holster on the nightstand, why would I want it in a box that depends on batteries to open? Would you buy a parachute that needed batteries? THE only time I could see having something like this is if you have kids in the house...maybe.

  • @snowbird29803 where do you keep your gun when you aren't at home/in bed? the idea is if someone breaks in, they can't get to your gun.

  • @defenseandsafety My bedside/carry FA goes with me when I'm out, and any others are secured in a real SAFE. This item seems best for keeping little hands out of harms way and probably does a good job for that purpose. I would imagine not having a (readily available) key a kid could get hold-of is its strong point (make-sure the override key is safe). Keeping guns secure from burglars requires more than a semi-portable lock-box. Any determined burglar would take the whole box.

  • @defenseandsafety lol in my waistband

  • if this falls down say off a shelf, it wont pop open?

  • @Johnalexgray it has rubber feet - doubt it would fall off a shelf. also doubt if it did that it would pop open.

  • @defenseandsafety cool thx for reply. was thinking about a ruger sr40

  • how much are they i rly like that

  • @hopecamel a quick search on google shows them selling for around $100 +/- $15.

  • But will it hold my old Crescent exposed hammer single barrel 12 guage? Hahha, just kidding. Nice video man.

  • beep...beep...beep...beep..that was funny

  • That ammo is the best around. Nice setup. I think Im sold.

  • Do you recommend the combination locks with the 3 digit codes and turn to open by gunvault?

  • @Jferrari427 i do not have any experience with those types of locks - i really like the finger combo method - it works great.

  • FYI - do not buy any of the biometric models - they are slow to open and sometimes don't work. Stick with the straight combo models - less is more.

  • Is this the standard model?

  • @mouast3639 no it is the micro - it opens form the top. the standard model opens from the front and it more of a box shaped. this is shaped like a clam shell.

  • hi is the micro better than the mini for a nightstand safe?

  • @losunimo88 i think so - it open on top and the regular vault products open from the front. the micro is flatter and takes up less space.

  • @defenseandsafety ic good advice tanx

  • ...taker advice and get the safe but keep the entries single digit not combined button choices. Nice clamshell design for full access and clear sight of everything.

  • @Mik902 glad you got it sorted out - these are great products IMO. Thanks for the updates!

  • Just reset my combination and kept it to single-button entries (you can choose 2 or more simultaneous button presses to count as a single entry). No problems. Opens every time. It seems that even when carefully pressed the double button presses was not being registered by the safe. Those make the combination harder to crack (what you want, especially with a loaded magazine in the safe) but also, as in my case, risk the safe not opening the first time and often getting locked out. Take my advice

  • I contacted the manufacturer and the guy said it's common. He advised me to just wash out the loose foam pad and let it air dry. I did that and about 60% of the smell is gone. I suppose with time that'll improve. Great safe. I use one double-button entry in my combination and it's hit and miss even if I'm real careful. After like 5 tries if it doesn't recognize the code it'll lock you out for about 10 min I think. I'm going to try single-button entries and if the issue persists I'll exchange it

  • Great review. I bought one if these from OpticsPlanetdotcom for $94. Love the safe! Only problem is that the foam lining has a really strong paint-like odor.

  • @Mik902 i smelled mine and it is odor free - i checked my other gun vault safes and they have no unusual odor either. Try contacting OpticsPlanet or GunVault and see if they will exchange it.

  • where did you buy this?

  • @losunimo88 i got it from amazon

  • Looks like a great way of keeping safe. Though wasn't GunVault one of the companies which if you simply hit some of their small lock-boxes with a strong hit, they would just fail?

  • @TheEnglishRedneck45 I am not sure how strong/tamper proof the locking mechanism is but for my use, I wanted a way to keep a loaded gun easily accessible by me but not to a bad guy or anyone else visiting my house.
