I'd highly recommend a sim to anyone wanting to fly planes or helis. Why not make all your n00b mistakes for free? It really has helped me out a lot and saved me a ton of money and down time. I have RealFlight, but everyone seems to be pretty crazy about ClearView, which is much cheaper.
2 or 3 hundred hours more than me before my first flight. Looks like sims works pretty good. Crashed my heli after 20 seconds on my first try (blades). Waiting for parts sucks.
I notice the playcount on this keeps steadily rising. Out of curiosity, how are you guys ending up on this page? Youtube search, or some referencing site?
This is after maybe 2 or 3 hundred hours of sim time on RealFlight. I almost bought training gear, but decided to see how well I could do without it. I had a blade strike on my 5th flight. I should be repaired and back in business after this weekend.
