  • I think That the History of Texas is always connected to the Mexican history itself.. and anyone who knows about US history knows that Texas used to be Mexico. Natives Americans and Mexicans (criollos & Mestizos) lived in the territory before anglos actually took over. Anglos from the United states used to be immigrants in texas, lol but just like on everything else, they always want to rule, but never want to be ruled, so the independence for Texas started.

  • @Marckos11 amen! bro you say the true

  • Everyone forgets what we TEJANOS did for Tejas back in the early days and even to this very day. We LOVE TExas, we BREATH TEXAS and are so damned proud of it. But we are also proud of our Chicano, Mexicano and Español roots ... it defines who we are. WE LOVE MEXICANS, but never call us TRAITORS. We are defenders of the Republic Of Texas for life... Even if some assholes are racists, and think less of us. Guess what, we don't care. Somos pocos peros locos... AJUA!!!! @ 2:44

  • Nope... those aren't Mexican admirers @10:23. Those are riot police and The Daughters of the Republic of Texas whose goal is to ERASE the fact that TEJANOS fought and died for Tejas at the Alamo. Instead they would have you believe that all Mexicans (including Tejanos) are evil invaders and ... well, you get the point. Yup... racism, alive and well in San Antonio TX (circa 1982).

  • @afsRocklinDad the mexicans who fougth for tejas independence where traidors, not because they wanted independence cuz they where not the first or only state to brake from mexico.but they reached out to foreigners which in return pay them a traitors wages by taking all they had and making them the landless or los desterrados.

  • @zamora721 Ha! You must be Mexican. I am 100% TEJANO. My family has been in TEJAS for 350 years. My direct ancestor fought at the Alamo, and at the siege of Bexar for TEJAS to protect his lands deeded to him by the Spanish government, which Mexico tried to take back from him. Get your facts straight. VIVA TEJAS! AJUUAA! A LA BATALLA TEJANOS! These were the words of my people who fought alongside fellow brave Texians (Seguin, Guerrero, Bowie, Crockett, Travis, Houston and all the others).

  • @afsRocklinDad Tipical ex-mexican answer, due to their actions they really can't claim what they are (Mexican) and their precious Republic Of Texas doesn't really want them because of what they are (Mexican) .So everything becomes not Mexican but Spanish,as if they where the only Criollos in the Americas. You contradict yourself in your comments and you make "your people" look as if they where the ones that where aiding the whites, with comments like (my people fought with Travis Crockett ect)

  • @zamora721 Nope... I'm not ex-Mexican, I'm 100% bloodline of the territory of Tejas. You just cannot accept that Tejas was taken from you by the likes of my people (Seguin, Crockett, Guerrero, Travis) ... my people (all Texians). See? I identify in a way you cannot comprehend. Tejanos are cooler, and have a way more interesting history than everyone else. It's why we are so proud of our own cultural identity, especially as unique as it is. Viva San Antonio & Eva Longoria! Ajua!!!

  • muyyy buen video felisidades ala persona ke lo puso muncho

  • wow. Super documentary! I had no idea.

  • The opressor wants to always have the opressed under control. By encouraging Mexican Americans to "present a caricature of themselves" is one example of this opression. Now in 2010 that control has diminished and certain political factions are still trying to exercise their diminishing power.

  • ''Mexican Americans are encouraged to present a caricature of themselves to the outside world'' .....''Its safer to look the way they want you to look''

  • @rulesandrulers yeah man, whats up with that XD, that statement makes me uncomfortable.
