I am putting a special edition 'The Drowsy Chaperone' Vinyl record that is one of 1,000 pressed recreating the man in chair's experience listing to his treasured record on eBay. The vinyl is in MINT condition, and has no trace of the real Broadway cast or the man in chair but the fictional 1928 cast to recreate the record as accurately as possible. It comes with a CD of the vinyl's content. Message me. To know more.
Whoa! It's Elaine Paige! As "The First Lady of Theatre" she has created & even stolen many major roles! A spectacular singer & actress!
Although, as a "leading lady" myself, having played this role & others she originated, I must agree that Beth Leavel wins hands down. It would have been much more helpful to actually compare an Elaine video to Beth's video of course.
soz pressed enter lol. Have you got any more from the london cast? I love this cast and was hoping that theyd relise a london cast recording but o well. send them to me plz if u have got any.
I am soooooooooooooooooooooo gutted i missed this in London, i didn't become obsessive with the show until after its' closure! However teh professional rights have now been generally released in teh UK so let's hope for a tour of some sort
i love them both, but this was just so elaine paige, there portrayals where so different, wish i got to see beth do it *cries some more about it* if there's anything else you wanna hear do ask.
Maybe. But they bring different areas of talent. Beth is a comedienne. Elaine is a blow-the-roof-off-the-place singer. She's the British Patti LuPone. Elaine was the original Evita. She was the original Florence in Chess. She knocked Piaf out of the park. She was a great Anna in The King and I. So, don't knock her. She gave it a try. But, she could sing the phone book and still sound good.
Its on tour, is it comming to a city near you? It sad its closing though. I did get to see Bob Saget and Cindy Williams twice though (going in and comming out) I talked to Bob for a min. or two and just let Cindy get on her way, unlike JoAnne Worley, time has not done Cindy and good.
not unless it's a world tour, i live in the uk, but i was coming over in march, well i still am, i'll just have 2 hope gypsy is in previews already =]

my second favourite show ever.
it really is an injustice to all theatre that they closed it.

Man, I'd love to have seen this show without the over-miked sound I had to endure in the Broadway production. It ruined the show.

She was also Grizabella in the ovie Cats by Andrew Lloyd Webber. she kicked Betty Buckley's Butt!!!

She is a much, much better singer than Patti LuPone in my opinion.

Why is there no key change at the end? It's supposed to change keys at "homeward tur-urn!"

You're right! That's so weird! I wonder why they didn't do it.
