humbuckers...all the info is scrolling across the bottom of the screen at start, you may have to move your cursor off the view screen, as the youtube/play tab covers it up.
a common complaint about tubescreamers is you lose some low end (it pushes the mids up) the bass boost adds more low end/body. it is quite a noticable difference, and you can hear it in the clip when i toggle between the settings (with bass boost off it sounds thinner) maybe try listening with headphones or different speakers?
so some of my friends told me that this could give me a punk rock/ alternative sound. I also like to play blues, and many other styles. I used to play a lot of metal but im moving away from that now. is this a good pedal for me?
the route 66 is basically a tubescreamer/overdrive sound but fatter. you can use the compressor as a boost to the TS to get it into higher gain territory and yes i would say this could cover the genres you mentioned, but remember, tone is very subjective so go and try out as many pedals as you like. i would also recomend checking out the digitech hardwire valve distortion SC-2...i have a demo in my youtube channel as well as other dirt pedals.
Could anyone clear this up for me? maybe to an A/B test or something along those lines. I have asked the ppl at visual sound and have not gotten a reply. Thanks
I just bought this bad boy used from my local music store.( Long and McQuade) I investigated a few videos online and decided for $100 i couldnt lose. Love it to death!!! It is the V1 which i was told was identical to the V2 aside from a few physical design changes (buttons, LEDs, SteelEnclosure) but have heard from many the V2 is not as "clean" and "clear" sounding
i havent got a V2 66...but i did a shootout between V1 and V2 H20 (check my channel)
there wasnt any noticable difference. the main upgrades are the switches and enclosure construction, which you can apparently drive over with a truck.

Hello folks! I'd like to know if it is possible to use the compressor as a boost for leads.
Thank you so much!

Are you playing through single coils or humbuckers?

is it true bypass?

@PF1964
nope...but FWIW it doesnt have a notifable tone suck...neither do my H20s
the buffers in the visual sound pedals are quite good so i wouldnt write them off because they arent TB

so how do you like the pedal?
zmickly 1 year ago
@zmickly
i like it a lot. the Overdrive side can sound like a tubescreamer, or have bigger/fatter bass.
the Compressor side, i found to actually sound/work well with humbuckers (most comps i find work great with single coils only)
but used toghether you can get a really nice lead tone.
