  • just plowed the sod in to the garden check it out I will let you know VIA videos on my channel how it went

  • OK! I get it now... you are ABSOLUTELY correct. the first season of growing in this yard. We tilled the sod into it and ultimately spent the rest of the season hand-picking grass shoots from the planted rows (and in-between the plants). early on the soil tested perfectly neutral PH but there really was no life... just sandy and dry soil without worms or anything. We tilled in 2 cu yards of organic leaf-grow. Now, there are now many worms and such... good stuff!

  • I disagree about removing the sod... till the sod into the soil and it will help to nourish the soil

  • @gyozza1 Yes, I think you are right about sod nourishing the soil but I prefer to remove the sod and compost it. By doing that I remove the likelihood of having to weed the grass out later, and later and later!! I live in a high rain area and any grass roots left in the ground want to, and will, continue growing. For me and my weather conditions, removing the sod is a good idea. So much depends upon where one lives and weather conditions. Or something like that! :)
