I think they actually co wrote it but George didn't take credit for it. I remember Ringo saying he wrote it with George when he sang it on Storytellers on VH1.

Ringo wasn't really one of the front men of the beatles. That was John and Paul who wrote most of there music as the beatles, however he did play a very important part in the beatles music, he kept the rythme for them. Now that the beatles are no longer and we've lost John and George he's been out in front creating his own music. I say keep going Ringo it's about time you did it your way.
