  • sorry but even then the sager was and still is the king of gaming notebooks.

  • Is the USB 3.0 ports powered by the DC adapter or by computer?

  • ur vga reach 106?

    ur crazy

  • I just do not understand why these stupid companies keep making these with the fan inlets on the BOTTOM of the cooler, instead of ducted out the SIDES like the Targus Chillmat.

Do they not get it that we are not always wanting to be tied to a DESK or some place with a level, flat, hard, surface? Like maybe lay it on the bed or our lap while sitting in a chair etc..

I like the extra features on this one.. but why no inlet on the sides instead of just another one needing air from a flat table?

  • i play quite a few games on my laptop, which my laptop can run, after a while they start to lag assume this is because it gets very hot here are my specs

    intel core i5 proccessor

    6gb of DDR3 ram

    640gb hardrive

nvidia geforce gt540m with 1gb dedicated memory.

i play games like GTA SA, GTA 4, GTA EFLC, team fortress 2, half life 2 and apb reloaded.

it mostly lags on GTA 4 and EFLC would this cooler stop that?

please reply soon i need to buy a cooler soon before i spend my money on more games!

  • @JD1042L Ok Thanks for answering! :D

  • They give it the option to power up with a HobbyKing Lipo battery as they are cheap, powerful and hold a high capacity.

  • Can i use it with a 15 inch laptop???

  • @hologun lol im sure if you run burn in or furmark it will get over 40c unless you are using liquid cooling. Even alienware are helped by the cooling mats.

  • my hp tx 2500 gets as hot as 120 degrees when i run google chrome, beat that!

  • so glad i went with the Alienware ^^

  • @hologun why is that?

  • @hologun All gaming laptops are hot.

  • @hologun you got a bad laptop alinware overheats realy bad

  • @TheDog7118

it does? weird.. i have it for a while now and never got over 40* xD on sli and cpu on max

  • Dude sounds Canadian, get aboooot 90c lol accent rocks lol

  • I would take a larger cooler laptop over a thinner hotter laptop any day.

  • If you got the old G73, and didnt upgrade the bios/drivers etc. You get those ridiculous amounts of heat. After upgrading everything, it should go to GPU 53~57 idle and 85C max :)

  • It isn't bullshit, my dual Nvidia 285s hit 106 Celsius :( cleaning the shut out of my laptop this week and possibly getting a cooling fan

  • 222.8 degrees Fahrenheit

I'm calling bullshit, the parts would of melted

  • Does the cooler suck air from the laptop or push it in?

  • Great review. Thanks.

  • Kinda off topic, but are gaming laptops from Asus customizable? The last time I tried to install hardware on my laptop, I couln't get it back together myself.

  • u plug that in usb 3.0 and u got 4 extra usb 3.0's, 2 fans, leds? that mustah drain alotta powah :P

  • @hristijank2 You plug it into the wall, I'm kinda surprised it wasn't mentioned in this review :o

  • @warrior16546 haha xD well normal person wouldnt notice... but im in to electronics... so i do care when my battery gonna run out xD btw this means no using it while travelling :D

  • Dude must be from Canada, I can spot that accent a mile away. Boot time a?

  • god i really wish that instead of having the fan on the bottom it shudd b on the side or just movable because my laptop gets really hot on the side

  • water boils at 100C so a 106C temp on a GPU is scorching. That has to be a very unhealthy temp for the GPU.

  • lol holy shit 106c you can burn your pants, luckily i have desktop not laptop

  • Hello, i have 2 questions. I'm looking into buying a laptop cooler.....well....because i have a gaming laptop, and i was surprised at how good this works compared to other notebook coolers. So the questions are: would you get the same results with the sf-19 2.0? The only difference between the sf-19 strike force and the sf-19 2.0 are the the type of USB cables that can be connected right?

  • This would be good with a Sager 7280

  • My G73 goes at 89 MAX no where near those 106 crazyness

  • where can u buy this in stores or only online?

  • @Smed5150 amazon has it, newegg does as well as far as i know... just google :)

or go to the sf19 product page on cmstorm.com and click the "check shops" button to find a dealer in your region :)

  • asus not king of laptops alienware m17x now thats a beast

  • @ssdfhX111 ASUS TESTED THE SECOND FASTEST IN THE US ALIENWARE WAS AROUND 6TH

  • coolers are a con

  • I have the g73 with the gtx 460 and my gpu temp maxes at 73' C while furmarking on my lap while wearing a blanket.

  • those are not USB 3.0 right.. its blue..?

  • @ASUSproz black is 2.0 blue is 3.0

  • you didnt mention how this cooler is powered! is it on butteries? usb port? its own power cord? what is it?

  • @Dimitry49 lol butteries XD

  • @xSuLFaTEx lol...i was probably thinking of cooking cookies at the time! :D

  • @Dimitry49 lol. i thought you were thinking about butt's XD

  • where can i buy this? A online store would be nice :) cuz im all the way over in norway :S

  • @SteamCatty Ebay my friend! Ebay...

  • pro gamers use desktop, laptops r behind by alot!!!!apart from the foke that spend 5000 pound on laptops that aint even as powerful as 4000 quid desktop! stupid if u ask me! i baught a high powered laptop that pissed on all my friends pc's..... but with no power cable i was lucky to get 2 hours.......NOW SOLD!!!! even baught a external battery for power serges!!! laptops r shit!! and everyone knows it!

  • @mich27g who the fuck spends 5k on a alienware ;D my gaming laptop costed 1000 pounds and it runs everything on high :)

  • Where Can i buy this???

  • Yeah, if ur buying a 1500 - 3000$ lap top im pretty sure this 90$ thing is like a penny for you

  • Looks like it was designed for the G73, same lovely matt black and angled design :D nice

  • GPU was 106'C?

    Wow?

  • @cjgan80 my g73j gets about that, possibly to do with the cheap factory themal compound, resulting in loads of over heating and enoyance.

  • @cjgan80 a little unhealthy i must say. but then again thats why we're watching this video isn't it

  • Supports up to 19" notebooks. DAMN.

  • aww i miss the awesome background beat doing you vids. bring it back next time :-)

  • This is exactly why I simply do not care about gaming notebooks, people are complaining about gtx 480 running at almost 90 degrees in a desktop but this.... you cannot call it a laptop and I doubt it will be very easy to take it anywhere (unless you bring a Honda generator with you) its supposed to be a "lap" top... Either way I would rather build a much more powerful desktop for less money and have no temp issues at all...

  • Probably another thing to do to really increase the Coolers Performance is to buy fans that will really push a lot of air, maybe like the delta fans?

  • laptop a rig?? LMLOLOAMAO

  • I would have only gotten a G73JH if it had e-SATA.

  • I've went though 5 different coolers for my gaming laptop and each one failed after 4-6months due to the power cord becoming loose. How exactly does this cooling pad receive power? (I'm sorry if you already showed it in the video, but I'm watching it from my iPhone and the quality is crap) Thanks for the great reviews guys. Keep them coming.

  • HEY!

    WHAT'S WRONG WITH PONG!?

  • yeah but when the laptop is at that angle its pointless, it makes your wrists hurt.

  • laptop coolers = boring as crap. Still love your guys' case reviews tho

  • Nice review as always. They should make a cheaper model sans the silly pimp lights (*palm to forehead*) - for those of us over the age of 17 -, minus one or two USB 3.0 and the useless cable guides; that should drop the price a weee bit.

  • That thing looks badass! Id pay that much to protect a laptop which would prob be over 1k to start with.

  • Holy shit 106!? Any one want a coffee?

  • What programs do you use for temperatures?¿

  • @guihercat Doh! I knew I forgot to include something. For this particular test we used HWInfo32 and HWMonitor because they had specific support for the G73 and are both free. Some other software suggestions would be CoreTemp, RealTemp and Speedfan. Its usually not a bad idea to test out a few different programs in case one has some issues with your hardware.

  • @guihercat they used everest

  • Holy f shit! I could cook eggs on that thing!

  • Nice review. Nice products from CM Storm as usual, but this is too pricey. Is it becouse of the USB3.0 hub becouse they are pretty expensive?

  • @HeyItsMeDaniel Many would agree, the price does sound a bit steep initially, but your average desktop replacement gaming notebook isn't likely to be less than $1,500. $90 seems like a pretty small price to pay to ensure the longevity of your laptop.

Also when you think about it, many people spend a similar amount on their high end desktop coolers and fans.

  • @HardwareCanucks hey friend I attached a video to this one I think you will like it attached to this one. Great video by the way!!

  • @HeyItsMeDaniel yeah, USB3 is pretty expensive still... since most laptops dont have USB3, and since its a bit expensive, we released a USB2 version for 20-25$ less :)

the USB3 version is now around 75$ and the USB2 version around 50

If you guys have any questions, use the support ticket on cmstorm.com!

  • 4 usb 3.0 #FTW
