Then Allen bolt on the end of the motor keeping the sprocket on came stripped from the factory, and I can't get it off nor the cover of the motor off, what do I do pls help
i think the best solution if your brush motor doesn't work well anymore, is to buy a brushless and swap them. Correct me if I am wrong, there is no advantage in keeping a brushed motor by cleaning it, breakin it, lubeing it....just buy a brushless, am i right?
I have the same motor as in this video. I plug in my batter to the car. my steering works but my throttle wont. Whats wrong. Please send me a messege on my youtube account with a link for troubleshooting or give me instuctions to trouble shoot i thing it might be an electrical short please help me.
uh, sounds like excatly what he's talking about in this video. did you even listen to the video? if it was working fine and then just stops all of a sudden and you shake the car/truck around and it wants to go again but then stops again then you have a hung brush more than likely. follow his instructions to fix the problem.
If you're using bullet plugs between the motor and ESC, I would bet that is the problem. The "bad" motor might have worn out a bullet connector. You can bend them back to a tight fit.
I was driving my rc yesterday when the motor just died. I put my old motor back in and it worked fine, but then I directly hooked a battery into the "blown" motor and it ran! But when I hook it up to esc it wont run...I know its Not the esc or reciever, Ive tried sevral of each... Capacitators?, dirty? Anyone help?
The motor was just dirty. I used motor spray and everythings fine now. Also I changed to high current plugs...the factory ones were blackened and charred from repeated abuse and high voltage. Traxxas high current connectors rule!!!

You know they do make brush cleaners and hood cleaners. They come in a 3 pack. basically look like little erasers lol.

How do you pick the right brushes for your motor or does it really matters.

have you cut the comm lately, or changed the brushes? the resistance might be holding it back

glad to hear it. Electric motors usually just need a little cleaning and theyll be perfect for a few years of running.
