@FilmandTVMaker Aww you're even scared to hit REPLY in fear that il continue to expose u for your stupidity. Get it right dude ... I OWN U! You are a cry baby... Whining that MOST ppl are smart enough not to fall for this "going green " BS.
I have some 60 watt equivalent philips bulbs, I could never get used to the sickly pale green-white of the CFLs, these things are a hundred times better.
@bronzeonion I'm not a fan of the LEDs either. For years, these greenies have been trying so hard to convince people that cfls and leds are getting better. Thats all a crock of shit. they're lighting quality is still as shitty as when they started making them. They say that they're getting better so that we're scammed into buying their products. i'm sticking with normal edison bulbs
those led gu10 and mr16's are no match for the halogens, they don't look as warm, the light looks duller, less of the sparkle, and their light output is no match, not quite ready for primetime yet
edisons light bulb is a lot better than the CFLs and even LEDs. they produce shitty white light. even when they ban incandecents 9 out of 10 people will still be stocking up on incandecents cuz A, they're better and B, government has no right to choose what light bulbs we use. I pay for my light bill so i'l choose the lightbulb suitable for me.
@trashvillecat007 Edison's invention is not TOTALLY going away. These light bulbs u see in this video ARE going to continue to be available with more energy efficiency. (i think i spelled it wrong) I know a few people who work for GE and i just got off the phone with another GE worker and they said that they're only phasing out a certain number of incandescents. It wont be as drastic as people claim
@trashvillecat007 I agree, CFLs are superior. Edison's inferior invention needs to go away it has caused enough damage. By the way CFLs can be dimmed.
@trashvillecat007 edison's invention is a lot better than the idiot who wanted to invent cfls. And im sure MOST ppl can agree on that. they're light quality is shitty. just for the record, i happen to light flourecent lights but the old skool kinds. like the tubes and circular versions. u say that edison wasnt a great inventer which means that ur house probably looks like the inside of a bus station's bathroom. you have lousy taste in lighting. i would hate to see how ur house looks like.
@noreaga12326 BWAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAh we so own u bwhahahahhahahahahahahahahhaaha troll with 700 boxes of incandescents BWahahahahahAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHHAHA OWNED.
CFL's have small amounts of mercury in them. Millions of people do not know how to dispose of them leading to increases of mercury in our land fills. HELLO thought we were trying to save the planet not kill it. Love the LED idea. Ship them out I'll buy some.
The amount of mercury in CFL or HID is less than the amount of a can tuna fish. The hysteria on incandescent light source is not right. Up to 40W, the incandescent/halogen lamp serves well as on/off light for short time light purposes (visiting toilet/basement/etc). Within 20 years our household/officescan run on solar energy. We have no carbon (CO2) burden, so why can't we use these very cheap (and no toxic metals as in LED) light sources?
@dauvi101 in my view, LEDs dont give off the same nice light as regular bulbs do. They say that LEDs are improving, but according to this video, their light quality would look better on head lights or traffic lights. Not House lighting.

Im not a fan of the LED idea. I mean look at 3:29, the LED's look like bike lights! LED's should stick to TV's, Headlights and Signs

This is a bad idea. We don't want these "corkscrew lamps" in our house.

@EricCirca6566 most of us also dont want shitty CFLS. there other ways to save the planet.

Finally turning our backs on Edison's invention. It would seem that all of the inventor's gadgets have now been eclipsed. Hardly a great inventor.

@stickedU CFLs only dim up to 25%. they're not fully dimmable.

@jsh78mang led bulbs also have mercury and other hazardous materials, though way less than CFLs
also note the big amounts of plastic and electronics (electrolytic capacitors with who know what in them etc)
and not to mention the energy it costs to produce all that
if there really needs to be something else than incandescent bulbs, let it be halogens
