Purchase both the THUNDERSTICK albums + previously unreleased bonus tracks, restored and remastered, reissued as a single CD from Heaven and Hell Records: "Echoes from the Analogue Asylum". Thunderstick is finally back!
@pieterjanoddens If you read the comments I have already pointed out it is not Bruce Dickinson on vocals after doing some more research. Thanks anyway though.
@pieterjanoddens There is an alternative version of their album Survivors [Extended Edition] that was released in 1990.On this album you can find the original songs recorded with Paul Samson on vocals, also 7 songs with vocals by Bruce .
@pieterjanoddens ' It's Not As Easy As It Seems', 'I Wish I Was The Saddle Of A Schoolgirl's Bike', 'Big Brother', 'Tomorrow Or Yesterday', 'Six Foot Under', 'Inside Out' and 'Wrong Side Of Time'. ...All these songs are recorded also with Bruce on vocals and you can find them on this 1990 album version.
I read in one of the Samson releases that the vocals were re-recorded during the shock tactics sessions. The music has been beefed up a little too, although it's the same 1979 recordings. Sounds great!
BUT, it appears in some Maiden's Bootlegs released like a
compilations along with other tracks like this, demo versions, early versions , etc, etc. I got some stuff like that, "the soundhouse tapes"(with 16 tracks) and high voltage 1 & 2,
if you want to listen this treasures, haha, lets use P2P Soulseek Client, see ya!
I know that kiddo, I'm talking about bootlegs versions released by bootlegs labels. the original soundhouse tapes only have 3 tracks and was released only on vinil disk and was a limited edition. o_O!
On artistdirect you can read about why Bruce is in the credits when he did no record anything on the album. Basically he joined right after they finished recording all the songs, but wanted to put his name on it anyway. Just go to artistdirect and check out the album on there and you will find what I have found.
Alright, you are partially right then. It is Samson and thanks for finding that out. The vocals are Paul Samson, not Bruce. Bruce came in later on, not on there debut album.
Well being before Bruce Dickinson for most people it sounds weird because we grew up with Bruce on vocals. Hearing Paul doesn't sound quite like Maiden.
Up the Samson!

It's Bruce on vocals, replacing Paul Samson's original vocal. The song wasn't re-recorded, just the vocals were replaced.

The real "soundhouse tapes" only have 3 tracks on it. The rest other people just put there saying it was a part of it.

It doesn't sound like Maiden at all. Its real slow and it sounds way to happy.

Yup, that is kinda how it started and then got darker lyrics as they went on.
MindFreak2020202020 3 years ago
It sounds like every other NWOBHM band at the time. I almost hear Bruce Dickinson on the chorus.
