You may say that atheist hate ray for irrational reasons. I say hate is irrational in the first place, but we have plenty of reason to be upset with him. Ray put a 50 page synopses in book that someone wrote trying to hack his credibility because he had a different belief system than Ray did. That is wrong on so many levels. I am talking about the origin of the species, in that Ray has not done any research on it, and attempts to hack it to make sure people believe as he does. ITS WRONG!!!!

Ray comfort's tactic when engaging people is pretty much the same as that of the scientologists; They induce a feeling of guilt, and then tell you how to redeem yourself.

As a believer I disagree with the logic of the comfort approach, example:

Have ever given someone a gift? Does that make you generous?

Have you ever told the truth? Does that make you honest?

Have you ever written a poem or essay? Does that make you a writer?

The problem is that when such questions are asked of our negative qualities, we subconsciously label ourselves according to occasional actions, yet we don't do the same with our positive actions. Even good people sin, unfortunately.

@abe2517 Good point. However the problem is most people think they're good enough to get to heaven on their own. Most people do not understand God is holy, righteous, and perfectly just. And they do not understand how bad sin is. Any sin will separate us from a holy, perfect God for all eternity. People tend to minimize sin and think more highly of themselves than they ought to. Ray is just trying to help people realize they are sinners in need of the only one who can save them, Jesus Christ.

@MrTraitorX Repentance is a work of God, not man. Read 2 Tim 2:25 and Acts 11:18. In. Luke 13:1-5 Jesus says "Unless you repent you will all likewise perish". Can't be more clear than that..

I met Ray & Kirk at their Transformed conference a couple of weeks ago at Cornerstone Church. It was great! He was surprised to see I had one of his old, original "Evidence Bibles."

I never watch TBN anymore since many of the pastors on there are the goat herders of the Word of Faith Movement, including Paul & Jan Crouch, current "throne operators" of TBN. I'm surprised to see that Ray managed to grab air time from Crouch to preach the TRUE gospel! I find that particularly amusing. :-)

My pastor was telling us a few weeks ago that Kirk had called him saying that he'd asked his wife Chelsea what she wanted for her birthday, and all she wanted was to sit down and chat with John & Patricia MacArthur. So he took her to a restaurant, blindfolded her, and waited for my beloved pastor and his wife to show up! :-)

Ray Comfort is Awesome! The Lord is using Ray Comfort in a Powerful way. Atheists hate him...but he is Greatly loved by the Lord, and felllow Believers. May the Lord continue to use Ray mightily...to reach these many Atheists for Christ...that they would Turn to Jesus before it is too late...and they find themselves in Hell... Forever with no hope.
