@beatberry I remember when my nana played this when I was 2 in Cincinnati before she moved back home she said sombody stole her copy of teh white album that was ten years ago good times...
@graypaw83 Heh I live in cincy and Paul played here a few days ago, he played a lot of beatles songs, and a handful of white album songs and it was great.
@jdmans One of the main reasons he did what he did was for the fame. So wherever there is John Lennon or The Beatles, that his name would be attached to it. Stop contributing to it by mentioning his name. You're doing EXACTLY what he would want.
- and, as Feamelwen said, expressing such hate in a video for a band who was so much about love and peace.
Hopefully, you're not a troll, doing all of this on purpose.
@lost108fg3 I can't believe that such hateful words are written under one of the Beatles' most beautiful, painful, and love inspiring song ... (Sighs) A song that isn't even written by John ...
Although George may have wrote about one or two songs per album, they really stood out andare pretty good songs and deep. Yes, he is underrated, but he's just as good as John and Paul. But you gotta like them all.
I look at the floor and i see it need sweeping, still my my guitar gently weeps, i dont know why nobody told you how to unfold your love, i dont know how someone controled you they bought and sold you!!
Did any of you see Prince doing the While My Guitar Gently Weeps solo on the RnR Hall of Fame thing? And Dhani was playing rhythm. It was AWESOME. I thought I would hate it and I loved it.
The mono vs. stereo debate isn't as cut and dried as some would have you believe. The Abbey Road engineers were well trained and followed (generally) stringent procedures to record good sound. They worked magic with the limitations of fairly straightforward equipment and without the luxury of many separate tracks to work with. Very disciplined work with mixing decisions being made at every step. The Beatles don't sound like any other band because of this.
On a regular system the differences in general tone and sound are subtle, but the monos and stereos were mixed using different reverbs, compressors and limiters though there is no additional limiting used in the remastering. Some of the differences are the slightly more powerful drums on Bungalow Bill. On WMGGW the effect on clapton's guitar is a little different and he doesn't fade down after the solo.. also the song goes a few seconds longer at the fadeout..quieter whistling organ
The mono ones are like a whole new experience they are different, I bought both and I love the mono ones much more. The stereo ones sound good but they are to similar to the last set of released cds.
You must not have heard "Revolver" and "Sgt. Pepper" in mono then! "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" barely sounds psychedelic without the echo and phasing on the vocals and the slowed, ethereal organ.
I say go stereo starting with "Magical Mystery Tour", since that's where we start hearing overdubs in the stereo versions, primarily the ones in "Blue Jay Way", that aren't in the mono, although they mono is still a good alternative.
Anyway, I hope to get both box sets, but have no $ for it now.
why cant this be number one today !! so many people will be inspired and everyone one will like it !

Since Martin Scorsese is making a film on George Harrison's life, no one else can play him except his son Dhani, I swear looks JUST like him

The white album sounds so much better in stereo than the other albums. While my guitar gently weeps is one of my personal favorites.

I think all the mono versions of the Beatles albums are superior to the stereo ones, except for this one.
I think the stereo version of the white album has the advantage.
tonynomis 2 years ago 2
i agreee becaus on with the beatles, some of the songs have the vocals on one ear and the other side is the instrument. i find that anoying

Mono for the early stuff, from Revolver on, go stereo! But that's just my humble opinion. A few lucky SOB's can afford BOTH!
mrsmagloo 2 years ago
I disagree .. the pepper era sounds the best in mono as the beatles intended..
phlizmo 2 years ago 2

I think many of the songs from "Magical Mystery Tour" have an advantage as well, but you did hit the spot with this one.
"Helter Skelter," for example, is a minute shorter in the mono, and "Revolution 9" is a down-fold from the stereo.
The mono is still a really good alternative.
TheOneartist 2 years ago
This comment is a response to tonynomis. For some reason it appeared here.
The one before it is a response to mrsmagloo.

Yeah. I also read that "Revolution 1," in addition to "9", is a fold-down from the stereo version.

And I thought the stereo remasters were good. These blow me away!
