It's so weird that, in the early days (as far as I can tell), they don't have the lights focus on the current player, but just do what they do for the team questions.

this is just my opinion, but although what chuck said was probably true, for that to have happened, the amount of people watching the show from the start would've had to have been at least halfway decent.

Of course if this was on now and in the hour format... the question's answer would be drawn out for 2 minutes per question. It's amazing that game shows like 5th Grader can be axed in time by half and still cover the same amount of content.
