1) a rare case were both the film and the book are brilliant 2) quite possibly THE most faithful adaptations of a book to film i can think of? 3) it really DOES make you feel (as close as is possible...visually) what it's like to be high on LSD and various other narcotics...brilliant!

My 3 reasons why Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas: 1.I enjoy Terry Gilliam's work & his attention to every detail. This movie about excesses & abuse of drugs is an affront to all senses on purpose. 2.Johnny Depp & Benecio Del Toro are wonderfully horrible in their roles as Hunter and his attorney. You really want to hate Benecio's treatment of Depp by the end of the movie. 3.It's very faithful to the source material. Only small changes were made to make it a more visually appealing scenario.
