Klasse Video! Ich hab es mir angeschaut weil ich auf der Suche nach einem 120d bin, Faceliftmodell, also der aus dem Vid. Aber ich habe viel von Problemen mit der Steuerkette gelesen, die soll schleifen und irgendwann reißen..! Also werde ich mir auch mal einen Vor-Facelift 120d anschauen, mit dem "alten" Motor mit 163 ps, der hat diese Probleme nicht.. allerdings soll die Verarbeitung im VorFacelift 1er nicht so toll sein.. kannst du mir dazu was sagen?

Oh, you owned a 3 series compact? Me too, e46 316ti. Many people say this is no "real" BMW but I didnt care. I liked the front with the round headlights. It was a very agile car. But when it got older (7-8 years), the wearout got really big.
Now I drive a e90 320d mit Performance Power Kit 197 hp, 20 hp more than the tested car. I have very much fun with this car although I find the first 3 gears are a little bit clunky. But as you said, the engine is great for a diesel :-)

I don't like the way it looks from the inside and outside, I didn't like the way the steeringwheel and the gearbox felt...You see: I'm very negative about it...I think I would rather get an Opel Astra instead, if you don't want to buy a VW Golf, 1 Series or Audi A3...Even the new Hyundai I30 is better than the Focus for me

what u talking about i drive a passat 2.0 tdi for 4 years now and the turbo kicks in around 1.5k revs and you dont feel it at all.. there is no transition only if you get caught in like 4th gear on let's say 1.2 k revs youll have a delay til you feel acceleration... of course i have no doubt bmw diesels are superb but vw 2.0 tdi's turbo at 2k revs? that car has got to be faulty
@mazinais31 Please no missunderstanding : VW does build some of the greatest diesel-engines and they all drive very smooth...Still this BMW engine is totally different to drive than the VW TDI, because you really do not feel the turbo at any rev. The power is constantly there from idle up to the redline.
I have never driven a diesel like this 120d, but I wouldn't necessarily say it is better than the one I drove in the Golf GTD...Especially not when it comes to driving pleasure and sound
@TheGetawayer im prettysure the bmw ones are better... for sure they are more refined, top speeds are also higher, it just really surprised me since i have never experienced such a turbo lag on my car, but the one in the GTD is a different engine anyway.. it's common rail and 30 horsepower more than my pd engine... maybe they have tuned it differently for higher revs or something

Da du schon die Körpergröße ansprachst, Ich hatte vor kurzem einen 118d als Leihwagen Die Sitzposition war okay, aber ich hatte immer der Rückspiegel im Sichtfeld so das ich in Rechtskurven den Kopf verrenken musste um drunter oder dran vorbei zu schauen. Liegt das an mir ? (2,04m) oder ging es dir auch so?
Fahre sonnst Beruflich einen A200CDI dort ist der Spiegel sehr weit höhenverstellbar, gepaart mit dem Hochdach habe ich das Problem dort nicht

Ich bin 1.93 und hatte mit dem Spiegel ehrlich gesagt keine Probleme.
Die A-Klasse fahre ich auch häufig und ich mag sie sogar ganz gerne. Da könnte sich meiner Meinung nach aber das Lenkrad noch höher schieben lassen, ansonsten für mich ein sehr bequemer Wagen, oder ?

@TheGetawayer Well, here in U.S., for this market, there's new categories, the R, the C Coupe, etc . ! I agree, the new Benz are very cheap looking lately ... And about which i like, i like SL and the S Class ! And the E Class Coupe too, actually that is my favorite !
The BMW's never appeal to me, although the new 5 Series looks great and the Z4 ! The Audi's, believe it or not, that always liked was from the 80's, the small one (3 series). I always liked the cockpit, very futuristic ! :)

In my opinion the sport addition package isn't aggressive enough.I think if it had more of an aggressive styling it would look better.I am not sold on the bumpers they still look very plain to me and the wheels aren't any better looking than a stock wheel.I agree with you Guido that I would spend my money on a bigger engine opposed to some body upgrades that are meadoaker at best.Great video Guido and I am glad you make them my friend. Most turbocharged cars from the factory have an undersized turbocharger to protect the engine from the owner. Most OEM (Original Equipment) turbocharger run out of breath long before redline which is why is feels pointless to redline most factory turbocharged cars. My redline is 6000 rpm on my MX6 but with a larger turbo and a valve spring upgrade in the head, I can rev to 7,500 rpm.
@ProjectCarTV : Yes a guy with your knowledge on turbochargers laughs about those engines and their turbos. I only have experience with the standard diesel-engines in all those european cars from VW, Audi, Peugeot, Citroen, Mercedes, Ford, Opel and compared to all those cars...The BMW feels and drives very different.
BTW: I hope you will upload some driving footage of your MX6 ! I like that car a lot and I'm really looking forward to your project-builds !

@ProjectCarTV The maximum compressor volume flow rate is normally limited by the cross-section at the compressor inlet. When the flow at the wheel inlet reaches sonic velocity, no further flow rate increase is possible. The choke line is the steeply descending speed lines at the right on the compressor map.
