I wish I could see a wolf in the wild. I have seen a maned wolf, but that was in a zoo. Sadly, I'm not old enough to go anywhere without my parents. I'm only 13.

well, depending on the species, red wolves are very endangered, although arctic wolves are not, I think the timbers are just borderlining endangerment...

I do agree that the wolf is a spectacular animal and like everything else it has the right to live. The main problem is that instead of looking toward animal overpopulation people are hunting these beautiful animals for fun. I do recognize the it is sometimes a neccisity but I personally find it disgusting when people boast about animals being slaughtered.

Hunting is such a moral conundrum for me because I realize that overpopulation of some animals is an issue, but at the same time I feel like it is wrong for humans to think that we need to slaughter animal populations to make room for our over-populated cities. @xInsectxEyesx i can't give you absolute proof that wolves are endangered because the definition is pretty subjective. they're still protected federally under the endangered species act. there are currently debates as to whether they should be removed. in relative terms---from original range to present---their numbers are still small.
@xInsectxEyesx i'm sorry. my information was old. they have been removed since may of this year and are now subject to whatever protection (or lack) each state provides. their numbers---even in the most wolf-populated areas---are still tiny. (i think the largest number was around 1300.)
they are beginning to re-appear in states that have seen no wolves for generations, and sometimes in fairly populated areas. more clashes, probably---w/ ranchers, etc. that's my guess for 'why.'

I do agree that the wolf is a spectacular animal and like everything else it has the right to live. The main problem is that instead of looking toward animal overpopulation people are hunting these beautiful animals for fun. I do recognize the it is sometimes a neccisity but I personally find it disgusting when people boast about animals being slaughtered.

Hunting is such a moral conundrum for me because I realize that overpopulation of some animals is an issue, but at the same time I feel like it is wrong for humans to think that we need to slaughter animal populations to make room for our over-populated cities. Hunting for sport is disgusting and wrong. If an animal kills a human that animal is killed, but if a human kills an animal it's a trophy. Disturbing.

@xInsectxEyesx i can't give you absolute proof that wolves are endangered because the definition is pretty subjective. they're still protected federally under the endangered species act. there are currently debates as to whether they should be removed. in relative terms---from original range to present---their numbers are still small.

@xInsectxEyesx i'm sorry. my information was old. they have been removed since may of this year and are now subject to whatever protection (or lack) each state provides. their numbers---even in the most wolf-populated areas---are still tiny. (i think the largest number was around 1300.)
they are beginning to re-appear in states that have seen no wolves for generations, and sometimes in fairly populated areas. more clashes, probably---w/ ranchers, etc. that's my guess for 'why.'

half the humans on this planet make me sick. the other half: nature lovers, against animal hunting and testing,and against people ruining are world are the ones i respect and are with all the way! wolves are the most majestic animals on this planet, their howls are so melodic and beutiful. i love canines and animals of all sorts, and i don't see why everyone hunts them! if we could put ourselves in their eyes and picture how they feel, then less and less people would hunt.

i left my hunting stand at dark, walked back to the 4 wheeler. heard a wolf howl, then another. i couldnt leave. so i laid down on the ground and listened for a half an hour. probably the most beautiful expiences of my life. lol btw i love wolves and would never even aim my gun at them, i shoot deer in minnesota

Ten pups have been killed so far, sixteen wolves in all. --Idaho is using steel traps-the animals suffers greatly and they can use poison too -are you telling me that's not painful..What is wrong with you??? They really are friendly creatures at heart I know first hand though . The reason they have gotten such a bad rep for attacking humans is beacause humans as usual invade and disrespect their habitat and way of life their by provoking conflict, but in reality wolf attacks were rare and much of fear for them was based on superstition.

They are adaptable and intelligent. They can be trained if born and raised in captivity. Wolves and pigs are pretty close.
