  • Amazing Cover <3

  • it is really goog i would tweak the guitar sound a little bit but is realy good.

  • good cover man. where did u get the tabs for the song ?

  • Better than original!

  • Hey man, i was wondering what kind of preamp you were using. Or if you were using a phantom power supply. Get back to me soon if you could please, I'm about to start recording myself :-)

  • @HippyamongHicks Vox is B1 mic running into Motu 8282 mkII with phantom power. The guitar has an inbuilt preamp running into Motu without phantom power. hope that helps!

  • @HippyamongHicks Wow that was a speedy reply haha. And yes, thank you. I will hopefully be getting a preamp soon, and this sounds good. Like really good. I just got a MXL v67g and was wondering what I should put on the other end. I play classical acoustic, and if you ever have any desire to get one, I highly suggest playing with a Yamaha G-120 A. They cost about 150 bucks and they are by far the best classical acoustic i've ever played. And I've played on 10,000 dollar guitars haha.

  • DAUMEN HOCH!!!!

  • Very strong an emotional performance that could be easily butchered from any other music-pretend-jackass.

Beautiful violin too, fits so well with your voice!

  • very beautiful. Great singing!

  • haha, I was looking for some microphone info on youtube when I accidentally ended up here. Good stuff guys! I hope all is well over there in Byron.

I miss the jamming with you and Anna (and Anna).

    Love, Jimmy Dee

  • @jimmyduchateau Hey bro! Yeh good times. I know you'll be twanging forever with that talent of yours.. Byron is as fun and vibrant as ever.. I'm playing a rooftop gig with some electronic players (synth, scratch turnies etc) soon, should be different! take care jimmy dee!

  • the violin complements the guitar and vocals wonderfully...really nice version!

  • wonderfully!!!

  • Very good!! Congratulations!!

  • amazing, just amazing :) loved it :)

  • Loved it - very nice...

  • Hi,

After you made me buy this mic... you made me want to play violon !

What kind of strings Anna is using ?

    Great congratulations

    Xavier,

  • @musella974 Hi! It's a good mic hey?

Anna is playing her great grandmother's violin.. it's generations old. It is germanic but has a star of david inlay .. which is historically interesting.

  • This was so beautiful...

  • very good )

  • bloody fantastic!

  • Wicked mate...NICE

  • very impressive !

    Beautiful voice and violon playing...

    So great

  • sounds awesome

  • Hey this is my favourite cover of this song! Really like it! You've got a new fan :)

  • Brilliant !

  • wonderful :)

  • nice voice man! good work

  • @duartman thanks mate :)

  • Hey erfmufn. Was feeling like a maudlin Crowded House cover retorspective and came across this brilliance one again. Love your work, as usual.

    Adam.

  • Heh thanks Adam :) If you ever need some live entertainment or audio stuff just holler!

  • great:D

  • the mc placement is terrible man, youa rent singing into the diaphragm, it needs to be facing you to get a proper full sound

  • understand.. in this case the mic is also recording the violin, not just my voice. Ideally in a studio setting I'd be standing up to sing, but in this case playing live so was a bit of a balance :)

  • ah ok, thought you were DI'ing the violin.

    Nice improvisation!

  • @erfmufn Sounds great and that's all that matters! You captured the voice and violin very nicely.

  • Wow, that's really nice! I just discovered this song, but this is one of the nicest versions out there! Normally I don't like violins, but in this song it's used really nicely. *****

  • thanks elike91, i'll pass your comments onto Anna, I'm sure she'll appreciate them!

  • sounds great nice job

  • thanks latitn!

  • heyy :) wow this is relii goood,

im getting this mic for xmas this year and was wondering if i can put it thru my mixing desk in to the computer to record instead of thru a firewire ?? ( it is the Alesis MultiMix 6FX ) thnkyou

  • you can run it through a mixing desk but it still has to get "into" your computer somehow. For maximum quality though it should go into your computer as raw as possible (ie direct firewire I/O) then EQ / mix from the software you are multi tracking with. thanks for your comments and hope this helps!

  • great sound there. what position setting do you have the filter switch on on the Behringer B1. (left, middle or right?)

  • I can't remember for that recording but it depends on the room.. i put my gain up so i can here the "hiss" of the silence.. then change the filter switch to whatever sounds best. Often dealing with some low level ambient noise or "air".

  • is it possible to connect behringer b-1 to pc???

  • it has a canon jack and needs phantom power, so you need an I/O device to plug it into, and that plugs into your computer. If you want it for music, i'd stay away from USB I/O as the latency is too high.. use firewire. I went all out and bought a MOTU 828 mkII for my I/O with my macbook.... but it's amazing, and make the B1 shine. Hope this helps you!

  • OK,but if i use the b1 for USB the sound is Ok or not really???...anyway thanks a lot man.

  • It will work but it will have latency so if you are playing along with anything on the PC it will not feel natural (eg a drumbeat). highly recommend firewire, even a cheap one.

  • Super, Thi's coll brother, keep it up. i love it

  • thanks!

  • Absolutly gorgouse and must add that ive been looking for a condensor mic for my vocals and watching yrou video had made me go with the behringer b-1 lol cant wait your voice and that song was just beautifull << "widout sounding gay that is lol" have subscribed and cant wait to hear more :)

  • Ahh thanks man! the B1 is an awesome mic... check out my latest vid (just today) I use the B1 to record a dobro slide guitar. (click HD and use headphones for best audio quality)

  • yh i noticed that you did a new video i have watched it and its very good your very talented, i have actually just orderd a b-1 now and cant wait for it to come should get it in a few days, so would be good if you could subscribe to me and ill do some songs meself when i get me mic and you can just think that it was you that made me get the b-1 lol anyways cant wait for more, thx :)

  • absoloutly beautiful

  • thankyou :)

  • great!

  • thanks milord!

  • Wow beautiful cover!!

  • Very good !! it's nice

  • thank you soir3midi!

  • im from melbourne myself, cheers for the info...im gonna have to get myself some decent equipment. i play both guitar and drums myself but im sick of doing these half ass hack recordings like everyone else on here...haha...keep up the good work and i look forward to hearing more of ur stuff in the future...

  • haha cheers man, dont stress im in aus myself....where u from? i thought ud be american...lol

  • Cool :) I'm up near Byron Bay northern NSW, how about you?

  • hey i just gotta ask, how much would u say uv spent on all ur equipment all up? like microphone and editing softwhere etc....cheers

  • No worries man.. its all in AUD tho.. (sorry!). I use a MBP which is a about 2-3k but even a Mac mini would do the job. The mic was about $250 .. add stand cost of course. I use a MOTO 828 mk2 which is amazing as an I/O device but cost about $800 AUD. For recording I use (and recommend) Logic Pro which is now cheaper than it used to be.. i think 400 - 500? all very approximate.. hope it helps!

  • thanks timbarker333 that's really nice of you to say so :)

  • Hey man, just wanna say Im a really HUGE fan of crowded house and this is a really awesome cover... I like the effects uv used on the mic, makes it sounds alot better then all the really cheap raw stuff u get on here... and great voice too....congrats

  • hiiii :)

this video of you is super i like this video :)

  • Thanks vanillia gin! I'm glad you are enjoying my vids!

  • Great cover, good playing, great voice ! i was just searching for samples for the behringer b1 mic that i m considering for buying and i stubled on this ! Keep up the good work !

  • Thanks man! I highly recommend that mic. It lacks a little in the top end but nothing that cant be corrected with some EQ adjustment. It's my favorite mic.. very true sound. Hope this helps!

  • thanks a lot mate, really helpful !
