So ill admit this is a halarious vid and now im gonna get attacked by everyone for what im about to say. I play drums and do all the vox for a screamo band and like in any genre of music their are alot of copyers and repeditive riffs done right screamo is musically one of the best genres there is. First off screaming takes as much talent as singing if not more, the guitar work and drum work in screamo is better than most genres musicaly it is one of the best genres there is let the attacks begin

Heres y, first off idk if u know anythin bout drums but if u listen to other genres they r basicly repetitve drum beats from no talent players who only know how to keep one beat. In most metal bands the beats and fills r much more unique (minus blast beats) and r also much more complex. From the guitar stand point for the most part they r more complex as well and have more elements added to them...

@likekickingjesus ... the solos r more complex and have more in them and the main riffs change and dont just stay the same through out the whole song. From the vocals stand point, like i said i do both singing and screaming for my band, singing takes a very strong voice and lung copasity and if not done properly will damage ur voice, all of these same things apply to screaming. Like in singing there r diffrent types of screaming although not as many. U can have highs, lows, and mids...

Going back and forth between two of them in one song is hard and can take years to master let alone being able to go between two of them rapidly in the same few lines is very hard. This is made easier if u already have some kind of natural talent (just like singing is easier if u have a natural talent). As w anything that is a skill if u do it wrong it can seriously hurt u, screaming is no diffrent. Thats my take on everything if u want me to go into more i will

@likekickingjesus The problem is no one is doin unique drum patterns anymore, i guess we have something in commen as ive been playin for about 7 years. And i will give u the fact that their arnt as many good screamo bands as there used to be but in my opinon the good ones had some of the best musical elements. And i will say that its not the best album but it is deffentily theyre best and one of the greatiest.

@Apollosdrummer a lot of people are doing unique drum parts. you just need to know where to look. the problem with one genre, like screamo, is that it can only live for so long before it evolves or is influenced by another genre. all the best 'screamo' elements are now in bands that aren't technically 'screamo'.

i do think that album is the best scream album, definitely displays the most talent and uniqueness...especially since they moved on from that and made even better albums

I've been exploring many different genres of music for years now, and I am a musician myself, so I have to say that screamo, hardcore, or whatever people call it, is probably one of the least skilled genres I've heard. But, I don't blame the genre, given that most music these days lack originality. And back to the singing/screaming...I've been doing both for ages, and as I've said, anyone can learn to scream. Not everyone can sing. That's just something you're born with, and have to always work on.
