the scorpion deathlock version (done by sting) is also performed with the right leg stepping in first, such as Owen Hart's technique. I personally prefer using my left leg, though (even though i'm a righty). Same with my STS.

It was never called the Sharpshooter until Bret Hart, it was originally called the Sasori-Gatame (scorpion hold, created by Riki Choshu) and then the Scorpion Deathlock when Sting started using it. Also, yes, Bret was taught the move by Konan. Try doing a little basic research, maybe read Bret Hart's autobiography.
