I use x-10 cameras around my house into a VCR. I want more recording time than an 8 hr VHS. Can I hook it up to an off the shelf VCR/DVR combo from sears and record directly onto a DVR? Want to record all cameras at same time, so the price would jump proportionately for a quad-plex and date time stamp. Does the system you show provide date/time and can you view it from a remote location using "X-Ray software" i.e. view home form office miles away?
look around u will get better set up for about about $500.00-800.00 by eBay. these one have useless Ir. i brought 4 ir from eBay at 20-00 each inc shipping cost which i see over 80 ft clear
Yes, I read the book. Way back in high school. The premise of the book was the government watching everything. This video is about you using cameras to watch and protect your personal property.
mate do u have any experiance on the wireless version of this product IE recomedations, quality of picture
thanks Tim
by the way mate im trying to get that drywall vid up for you on internals ,and a few other tricks we have that u may be able to pass on ,I'm on a job where i may be able to show you a few things
Yes, I have a wireless security camera that I am connecting at my front door. They are SO EASY to work with. Can't wait to see some of your methods! Is it too hot right now to tape? You are in the middle of your summer after all.
we use a chemical set typ base we run throu our tapeing machine ,humidity is high we have an avg of 80 to 90% humidity
tho when windy we have problems ,but the tape machine lays tape and mud in 1 process
i shall take my cam to work for the next few days and get my bud to film me on the go ,will also do the patch hole system for you but i need some 1 to make a mistake at work that i need to fix with our method
You could do a lot more than 10 parts on this subject(color vs. B/W, types of switcher/multiplexer, proper cables, 'all inclusive' kits vs. separate component systems, types of monitors, using a time lapse VCR/DVR, proper mounting, IR vs. visible light illuminators, where to buy, applications for cameras, troubleshooting, power supplies, wired vs. wireless, hidden cameras, etc.).
At this time I do not have a composite video to computer adapter and quick capture will not record audio on my computer. I will start posting videos on the subject when I get a video digitizer(all my video cameras are VHS tape units).
The one in this video is made by Swann. The model is the "Alert DVR Camera Kit". Do a Google search as you may find different pricing at various online vendors. You can also discover other information and more kits at swannsecurity dot com.
Ahhh, why does the video keeps buffering.

If you don't mind me asking, about how much are these type of security cameras?
GTAassistant 3 years ago
It can vary, and the market changes rapidly. Whenever you have a pricing question, simply Google the product.

I know, my reply was to appelelle, he/she said orwell would be pleased about the camera thing, and I contested that.

ahhhhhh..... You must use a banjo machine. That's what we call those fantastic taping tools here in the USA.

a more in-depth installation video would be better. maybe some inside wall/ceiling mounting ideas for the cameras etc.
this is basically an advertisement. more DIY please

The video was meant as an introduction to the topic. You could easily do a ten-part series.

looks like you got a lot of work ahead of you
