In my opinion I think you staged in a good spot, not right in the middle of the scene, but close enough that you could provide service if needed. I noticed it did take you awhile to start the truck. I would suggest, and I'm not criticizing, but start it as soon as you get in and get the oil flowing. I know we always try to get the truck running first thing, especially because it is cold where I live. Great video though.
Salem Fire and Rescue along with Brandy Station Fire Department are always cruising down 522 responding to auto accidents, but its mostly structure fires. There are alot of old buildings and elderly around Culpeper so they are a busy company. My neighbor is with Salem. He will leave at 2-4am sometimes. Most of the structure fires are caused by bad wiring or electrical shorts. There were a few that were arson cases, but thy got the guy who did those.
Can I ask--what is a Q and what is a powercall? I am a layperson who has been watching fire videos only for a little bit, and I am kind of lost...thanks a bunch!
the Q and Powercall call types of sirens. when you hear a firetruck passing witht he weird sounding siren that's the Q the powercall is known for it's warble type sound which is well used in some states (maryland to name one... and it's the only one i know)
This is a little late...but THANKS! I love the sound of the fire trucks going by our apartment building! The firehouse is right up the road and they get called out a lot. :)
We have a LOT of old, decrepit, and condemned buildings here that are ALWAYS catching on fire, or so it seems.
Thanks for the feedback and comments. The units responding dealy is a little big, I reduced it on my comp and it looks better. I just wish I could re-upload that instead of having to make a whole new video entry thing. But oh well, this is good enough! Didn't look that big when I was making it, but no biggie (no pun intended). The timer's new; and I haven't taken out the door yet haha.
Not having subtitles for radio com. is not a big deal. I think most people watch these videos a few times over anyways. Nice job. I was getting worried you weren't coming back there for a while, lol.
Awesome video, nice garage door- ever take a door out forgeting about the timer? the sub title showing units responding kinda blocked the view so if it was a little smaller it would be fine, thanks again and keep up the good work!

When they respond why do they say on the radio; Tower 6 with 4 and not just tower 6 responding like they do here in Amsterdam (holland)
Thanks for the awesome video and keep them coming

they say tower 6 with 4 to let dispatch know they have a crew of 4 on board. 1 driver 1 officer and 2 firefighters are on the truck.

it sounded like it was from the engine that followed the tower.

So how does it feel going back to driving your car at the end of the shift? Makes you miss the sirens and horn, eh!
Great video, thanks!
