Alot of people are missing the point that Prost tried to take Senna out in 89 and succeeded (thanks to a DSQ.) Prost clearly drove into Senna in an attempt to take him out of the race, knowing he would be world champion if he did. So,one year later, Senna sees the opportunity to do the same to Prost because now hes in that position. (No he didnt plan it, it just came to him at that moment to deliberatly take him out for the same reason as Prost) If you were Senna, youd have probs done the same.
It's clear to most that Senna deliberately hit Prost here. It doesn't make Senna less of a man or driver, his will to win and to beat Prost was so high that he would do anything. The casio triangle was less clear - it was a massive lunge by Senna, basically saying "yield or cause an accident." Prost did not yield and they collided. In the end it was a racing incident and Senna should not have been disqualified.
this asshole balestre put poleposition on the dirty line becasuse senna had pole and prost was 2nd, senna said he want the clean line and that pole always should be the best postition to start a race but they gave him the dirty line because of this stupid idiot balestre who clearly was a fan of prost, senna did the right thing here showing this idiots in fia they cant always to what they want and expect everybody to do what they want that wouldnt be racing
@8kuh At least someone else know about that shit with the dirty side of circuit. Yeah, Jean-motherfu**ing-Marie Balestre was pro-Prost because he was french too, also a friend of prost. Real scum that man was.
Senna is one of the greatest driver's in history, but I get the feeling that some of his fans think he built the Great Pyramids and invented the theory of relativity.
Senna was allowed to kick Prost off without getting punished. 7 years later Schumacher tried to knock out Villeneuve, didn't succeed, and got excluded from the championship. And still there are people who think the FIA worked for schumacher.
@Bleifuss88 well if you go to F1.com go to the F1 champs hall of fame click on Prost and Senna Bios. Prost hit Senna in 89 which is why it was ok for Senna to do it in 1990. know your history!!!!
@ImmortalSenna , Senna went through the pitlane entrance in 1989 and Prost was taking his normal line into the chicane. 1989 was Senna's fault just like 1990. Senna had talent, but he was an ass on track.
Same thing with Nannini at Hungary in 1990, same thing with Mansell at Spa in 1987, and on and on and on and on...
@ImmortalSenna this from a biased senna fan. I love Senna: but unfortunately he has the most pathetic, inferiority complex ridden and cultist fans of all time.
Also 89 was an accident which is why Prost wasn't punished: 1990 was outright planned and Ayrton SHOULD have been penalised. There is no excuse for what he did just for being Ayrton and for having a racing incident a year before.
But as a "widower" you will of course not have any of this and continue to spew your bullshit.
@Foxx1981 Watch the onboard of prost in 1989. You will clearly see him look in the mirror and then turn in on Senna. @Foxx1981 Planned? o_O You freaking moron, they switched the grid sides putting him to a dirty side of the circuit! Planned... Har-har, how funny that was, pfffff... End of story. Stop your propaganda conspiracy theory bullshit!
@thylegion Of course it was planned. There was no gap, Senna absolutely couldn't overtake here, Honda engineers and telemetry report shows that he was flat until the crash. Senna fanboys should learn more about F1. Prost is the real 1990 F1 world champion.
@Shogo5000 So you're saying he planned to hit prost, almost like he knew that prost will be first in the first corner, wow. You're saying that "rthey should learn more about f1" and yet you simply know squat about that situation. If prost's the real 1990 champ, then Senna is real 1989 F1 world champion. @Shogo5000 oh yeah, and another thing... you really think that prost would've saved his first place for the whole race and actually win it at the end? Yes, I know you know, because you're the clairvoyant. Fucking pathetic...
@thylegion I'm from Alsacia... so it's not really France, and your comment is the typical frustrated senna fanboy reaction : aggressive, ignorant, insulting & pathetic... And I find it funny that a stupid polish faggot tries to talk trash about nationality.
@Foxx1981 You simply have no idea of what you're saying. You make it sound as if Prost didn't know what he was doing back in 89. He planned the accident, threw his car on Senna, and he did that because he knew the French FIA director would defend him. The worst thing for Senna was probably see that hypocrit prost denying everything on tv. In 1990, Senna did no worse than Prost had done, and that's why nobody dared say a word about that. The whole world knew what had happened.
@enietto I love how people you know the thoughts of people you've never met. Stay classy and delusional brazilian fans: you live in your own world where whatever bullshit you make up is real. Personally I'm tired of you people, it's completely pointless to reason with you biased fans.
@Foxx1981 Look, I'm not talking about nationalities. i never offended you, and I based my comments on arguments, which was much different from you, who is attacking me and murmuring about my nationality. I'm a Brazilian, and am very proud of it, and am not stupid like you, who likes to stereotype people based on their nationalities, as if everyone in a country or in a continent is the same thing. If that's true, you are condemned to be a thieve, because your country is full of our gold.
@Foxx1981 Now back to F1, which was the main topic, despite this bullshit i read above about telemetry and so on, it was so clear that Senna was stolen in 89, that he passed that Benetton just like he intended to do before. Prost turned in on Senna, and just a blind man can't see that. Senna's attitude was not good the following year, returning the favor to Prost, but was definitely not worse than that of prost. Prost was a great driver, but Senna was hugely better. Live with that.
@Bleifuss88 Schumi was excluded for 2nd place in the championship which means has no worth. in fact, when today they show Schumis career result they alway count also the 1997 points...so it was an image damage, not more. what concerns 1990 Senna kicked off Prost and he was not punished, but have you no idea because they didn't? 90 was a direct consequence of 89. the 89 championship didn't finish in an equal manner. even the FIA guys knew that, they officially couldn't admit it, but it was so.
@Bleifuss88 LOL. Senna & Prost were as bad as each other for deliberately taking people out. Senna got disqualified (for cutting out the chicane after the incident) & when he appealed, it was upheld, but they added a $100,000 fine & a 6 month suspended ban. Nigel Mansell FTW (but not that race eh?)
@Bleifuss88 Um...Dumbass... Senna WAS punished before the race started! Senna was made to start on the dirty side of the track. Against his will. F1 hated Senna and loved Prost. Also the rules state that a car can pass on the inside so Senna broke NO rules to be punished. If Prost moved over and let Senna take the spot, Would it have been a bad move? NO! It would have been a great move. Senna threw the dice and lost. History 101.
Looks like you don't have many arguments if you have to describe me as a dumbass. Please think about your language and write back when you have learned to discuss like normal people.
I've never said the FIA worked for Senna. All I have done was comparing two similar situations with different outcomes. The FIA shouldn't have punished Schumacher in 1997 after they didn't punish Prost in 1989, Senna in 1990 or Schumacher in 1994.
@Bleifuss88 : yeahh it´s correct. Senna was lucky, that he becomes not problems with the FIA, it was with intention and nobody could say, the working for Schumacher. But this is the problem: Champions have ever hater! Look at Na$car: Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Kyle Busch. This was since the eighties always a problem. An so many morons think Senna was a god! I think Ayrton wanted never this direction!
@Bleifuss88 Your comparisons are simply ridiculous. Schumacher has been dirty since the beginning, and specially in 1994, when he hit Hill on purpose, in a sucessful attempt to destroy Damon's aspirations to become champion that year. In 1997, however, he could do that properly again, and the whole world saw how dirty he was. Amazingly enough, he hasn't regreted nor ceased to behave like that, and at the age of 42, still tried to smash Barrichello against the wall in Hungary, 2010.
@hottotrot75 sure you can think that but the fact is. Senna drove knowing that they throw results away. so actually Senna outscored Prost in 88, which is why he was crowned 88 world champ. 89 prost was lucky due to Senna's bad luck and break downs. so really who was the better driver?
@ImmortalSenna Mate, I wouldn't recommend to reply to ignorant people saying "prost outscored senna bla bla". You and me both know who's the best driver in the world. I miss him every fucking day. Prost is a point-counting pussy, who didn't even wanted to drive at wet Adelaide '89, Ayrton was there to drive, like a real racing driver, even when championship was over for him. Jerez '90 - Donnelly's horror-accident only motivated Senna to improve his pole time. The list goes on and on. Cheers!
@hottotrot75 I'm sorry but it seems that you base your F1 knowledge on one or two newspaper articles that you have read! Senna b-slapped prost time and again. Prost left for another team and wanted to retire BECAUSE of Senna. Check up on your facts dude! Then repost what you have learned.
@hottotrot75 Yea, u r right, Prost would have won the world championship in 1988. I admit Senna was the best but his driving style might have been a bit too agressive on the cars, whereas Prost was smooth. In 1981, Prost's smooth driving style overpowered Arnoux's agressive driving style in the Renault, so that proves that Senna is the best driver but Prost is the most tactful.
@hottotrot75 You gotta be kidding me... Senna was champion in 1988!! Hadn't Prost turned in on him, senna would have been the champion again, even though Prost was much more experienced than Senna in F1. Senna beat Mansell in 1991 with a clearly inferior car, and in 1993 Prost needed a super Williams and a contract that prevented the brazilian driver from being his team mate to beat Senna, who drove a ridiculous and doomed Mclaren Cosworth. Senna was always much better than Prost.
@serginietor: Very little downforce? I don't think so, those cars could do over 5G on fast corners on qualy-tires like todays cars do. I think it's more about the rubbish race-tires they had in that time, so the race-performance was lower.
Nigel Mansell he destroy the gearbox many times during this year, his Ferrari was a shit and Prost that became first driver lost fully the confrontation with Senna
they always make "heros"out of ppl who die... like Michale Jeckson...they all coled him a pedofil ...now hes dead hest the greatest of all time ... Sena is dead hes the greatest of all time ? sorry he hits ppl out of the track on purpus... gay !
just because he did ram people off track, he still was and still is the best f1 driver ever, he was the best natural f1 talent and will be missed grately
who you call an idiot, is actually concidered the greatest genius to EVER sit in an F1 car. Ayrton is voted the top driver in F1 history by over 217 F1 drivers.
Prost sealed his fate when he hit Ayrton the year before and acted like it never happened!
@Kw12345ff You're the idiot, watch this video /watch?v=kh1WxQmst2o&feature=related and tell me Senna pushed him off. Senna said after the crash that the starting grid for pole position was on the wrong side.
@helmet2232 I'm not sure but I think the new cars have more speed in the corners but not the same top speed as these cars because a lot of super long straights like the Hockenheim ring don't exist anymore and the fact that these old F1 cars had hidieous/y high power to weight ratios. Didn't one of the Brabhams have a power to weight ratio of nearly 1400hp?
I don't think it was his fault, it's pretty hard for a driver to break the driveshaft on purpose... Mostly the clutch or the gearbox gives up first. It is possible that he has given it a big nock at some point, we shall never know...
he always ran off pits like that....I agree with you, It's a bit too much, but it was the 1 st & last time he had this kind of "pit out" broken gear box problem
The question is : Why that fucking shit happened when he was leading a race & not when he was struggling ? Mansell was one of the most unluckiest driver. It's not a lie to say that he could've been 2 or 3 times world champion if he was lucky like Prost was for example.
Essa merda só foi campeão em 1992 pq o carro era muito superior

Nigel Mansell he destroy the gearbox many times during this year, his Ferrari was a shit and Prost that became first driver lost fully the confrontation with Senna

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Senna, the criminal, launching Prost out of the track at beginning of the video. A true idiot on wheel.

who you call an idiot, is actually concidered the greatest genius to EVER sit in an F1 car. Ayrton is voted the top driver in F1 history by over 217 F1 drivers.
Prost sealed his fate when he hit Ayrton the year before and acted like it never happened!
ImmortalSenna 2 years ago
Notice how quickly Prost steers to the right as soon as Senna caught up, exactly the same thing happened in the last chicane in 89.
And Fearri in 89 and 90 had reliability issues, such as this transmission failure.

@Kw12345ff You're the idiot, watch this video /watch?v=kh1WxQmst2o&feature=related and tell me Senna pushed him off. Senna said after the crash that the starting grid for pole position was on the wrong side.
sookster54 1 year ago
@sookster54 Keep quiet. You are familiar with races as I'm with rocket propellers. Idiot.
Kw12345ff 1 year ago
@Kw12345ff Oh so you're a rocket scientist? :P I've watched F1 since I was a kid (like '78 or '79).

same so much better than today's cars
shrimpo13 2 years ago
those cars are as raw as fuck, compared 2 todays cars, now they take 130r flat, f1 has come a long way.
helmet2232 2 years ago
@helmet2232 I'm not sure but I think the new cars have more speed in the corners but not the same top speed as these cars because a lot of super long straights like the Hockenheim ring don't exist anymore and the fact that these old F1 cars had hidieous/y high power to weight ratios. Didn't one of the Brabhams have a power to weight ratio of nearly 1400hp?

cromafot 2 years ago
Ok, então "moralmente" o título de 89 é do Senna.
Sem esquecer que fizeram o pole largar no lado sujo aquele ano... por que?
Realmente é uma mancha na carreira do Senna, mas nada comparado com as vigarices do Schummy.

broken driveshaft i think. His fault? Hard to say, but he gives it plenty out of the pits - perhaps a bit TOO much
sinnae404 2 years ago
Yep. Official cause of retirement: Broken driveshaft.
txtmstrjoe 2 years ago
I don't think it was his fault, it's pretty hard for a driver to break the driveshaft on purpose... Mostly the clutch or the gearbox gives up first. It is possible that he has given it a big nock at some point, we shall never know...
skynet0912 2 years ago
he always ran off pits like that....I agree with you, It's a bit too much, but it was the 1 st & last time he had this kind of "pit out" broken gear box problem
The question is : Why that fucking shit happened when he was leading a race & not when he was struggling ? Mansell was one of the most unluckiest driver. It's not a lie to say that he could've been 2 or 3 times world champion if he was lucky like Prost was for example.
