  • Does this sim allow flying in idle up mode?

  • Just want to add my 2 cents, here.

PLEASE be SUPER careful when getting DLL's from 3rd party sites. If a given software / hardware manufacturer or Microsoft doesn't offer direct support for missing DLLs (ie cannot download from their website or an affiliate), then that would raise a huge red flag with me.

Always have up to date anti virus and anti malware.

  • In glad i found this post ive had the same prob for week thank you

  • looks like crap. Get Phoenix RC

  • how do this work on Windows 7? i got this sim free in my heli box :) but it didn't work on my pc :( it says: Exeption EComPort in module FMS.exe at 0008B728. Registry error (win error code: 2). Can you help me plizz?!

  • Good vid... Thx it really helped! I just ordered mine!!!!! Although I would lik to hav a realflight g5.5 simulator but it's $100-$250.... Ya EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!

  • i went through a bunch of trouble to download fms. and when it started working i was disappointed. i had more fun trying to get it to work than using it. then i got clearview

  • well i mad headway i got the flight sim to work but now my controller doesnt work even when i callibrate it any help please?

  • i cannot seem to get the file to open its saying that the file does not have a program associated with it to perform the action. BTW im using vista. any help would be awesome. Ty

  • i downloaded it and dragged it to system 32 folder but it still wont work it still claims that the D3Drm.dll isnt loaded any tips

  • @laxman4008 i had to drop mine into the system try not the 32 tray but its actually in both so im not sure

  • @laxman4008 I got mine to work on vista. im using the dx6I, you have to D3Drm file from the internet, google it, save it in a folder to the desktop, then go to C: program file, and look for FMS drop it in there, and the next time you open fms it should work, it did for me..

  • I loaded e-sky simulator and the dll file on vista yet the joysticks still wont work please help .

  • mine still didnt work good after using the dll i had to turn off textures in the graphics tab cause the simulator screen was flashing

and my controls are reversed lol

  • do someone knows how to set the calibration for esky hbk3?

  • HI im a beginner do you think this will teach me how to fly?

  • @1Filmproducer: No simulator will teach you how to fly but it'll give you a decent grasp on the controls and the models behavior. I myself a simulator freak but the first real launch of my Pelikan Cessna 480 was nothing like a simulator run. I think a little prop damage isn't bad for a first-timer...

  • i need help when i fly helicopter on fms it's always mode 1 but when i fly airplane it's mode 2 but when i fly my real helicopter it's mode 2

  • dave, i can always count on you when considering a purchase. i just purchased this as a less expensive alternative to g5. cant wait till it arrives.....of course im STILL waiting for my pistol grip usb controller for vrc. hopefully they both will be here next week- Ken

  • HEY Dave'

I'd like to know how I can turn the switch on or off for the simulated crashes on the E-sky simulator

Tanks and continue your great job!!

  • thank's dave i finaly find out to get the fms running i got the fms wit the cessna 182 skylane but on mine controol it wasn't a usb plugg in it wass an mic plugg in som thank' so kindley dave

  • You are either a hell of a pilot or I just suck with this simulator!

I think both statements are true!

Compared to when flying your pitts in the beginning....my pitts doesn't act the same way.

Mine is lithargic and slow or just doesn't manuever the same.

But I am still practicing and learning.

Hoping to have my first actual plane by summer.

  • what windows system 32 folder i dont have that folder i downloaded the file but idk where to put it

  • thanx it gave me a good review of the game

i think i might going to buy it

but can it be played on the windows 7?

  • wher i can dowlad the progame for the windows vista becouse i don t can repar the problem can you help my pleas

  • Can anyone tell me what cable I need and where to get it to use my DX6I with this and other flight sims?

  • Yea!!!...that's about as realistic ....as a Family Guy episode...lmfao!!!

Some one needs to fly the "Pitts" or a heli using this sim...(E-Sky)....then attempt it

with a real R/C. Let us know how that worked out for you..(if your even able to get it off the ground)......E-Sky= waste of twenty bucks

  • E-Sky SUCKS!! You want to learn how to fly? or be prepared what to expect when you attempt real r/c flight? Spend the buck! It's well worth it!

    Great Planes Real Flight!!!!

  • hay hay on my e-sky disk the rc controler wont wor what are the numbers going down word (plz reply)

  • does this controller work with other simulators? like aerofly?

  • @ThizzFaceOffNike ..fraid not...most come with their own...or offer one for their program...(interface)

Some will come with the interface lead to use your own trans ( Futaba / Jr radios..etc)

  • thanks for doing the review i almost went and got a two hundred dallor flight sim but this cheap one is all i need to learn..the other ones are just nicer graphics and are harder to setup i got off topic thx anyway

  • @popcorn8190 if you really want to learn r/c flight.......plane physics and reaction are the trick...graphics also help (if you've got the video card and the ram to run it....which I'm sure you do if you've got a newer system

I started with this E-Sky sim..and went to a g3.5 sim...it blows it away!...and the flight physics are more realistic if you really want to learn R/C flight.

As far as setting up....run the program for your system..follow the directs....register....

    and your flying!

  • @popcorn8190 E-Sky SUCKS! Try a real sim...(GP Real flight)...and you'll see!

I tried it... and tossed it. Now have $20 entertainment piece....(E_Sky's transmitter) Go into your local hobby shop that caters to R/C..they'll tell you the same.

  • i flipping love it. i have it on windows 7!

  • windows 7 sux!

  • you're mom is a realy anoying boy, you're dads an ugly girl!

by the way, Windows 7 does'nt have better quality than most of windows vista apps & more!

  • @habbtrillion

who gives two shits about what u say anyhow?

  • u do, u cant talk! LOSER!

  • @filipe3361....... agreed

  • Comment removed

  • i do not know what is wrong with mine. every time i start the program it immediately tells me it has encountered a problem and needs to close.

    any help?

  • @remotecontrolaholic you need to make sure you have the ofte missing file associated with running this program.

"dll.3" for your system..search for that file if you don't have it installed...search for it and down load it. When downloaded...run it in your windows 32 bit folder.......follow what he said in the begining of this video......he had the same problem when trying to run.

  • silly little children who got vista i laugh at you for buying an unproven OS XP is the best! deal with it!

  • @ardfghjk mine works fine (Vista)..with a real flight sim..g3.5.......didn't with that piece ...I did deal with it.....round file for E-Sky.....junk. Older Dave Brown sim gave better than that.

  • hey help I ORDERED A WILD HAWK OK? :D OK I ORDERED TOO THE SIMULATOR BUT THE SIM DONT COME WITH THE VIRTUAL WILD HAWK OK WHERE CAN I GET PLANES FOR THIS SIM???

  • search fms planes in google, click on the link named planes for use in fms, scroll the website until you find gary gunnerson's models, double click on it and you will be able to download a wild hawk.

  • watch out for the usb plug mine just came right of

  • @laithsrc

    really?!?!

  • @laithsrc and to think ........you just paid $20 for that conversation piece.....after all

"FMS E-Sky" is a free download online

You paid that $20 fee plus shipping for the transmitter. That's what your given for advice when you try on their "help" forum

  • is it a good simulator?

  • @filipe3361 absolutely not

  • yes it is.

    i actually own it now.

  • own what ? Real Flight? way ta go!

    blows FMS away.....

  • no fms.

    its great,.

  • @khabx6 fms is freeeee....

  • @ punnisher70000000 fms program itself is a free download but ya need the E Sky transmitter in order to use it....that's $20 plus shipping costs. That's not freeeee! You can't use any other transmitter with the program as the interface. Other flight sims you can. Use your own R/C trans if you like with Realflight - (Futaba , JR etc ). Wouldn't call E Sky a flight sim. More like a "video" game.

  • FMS Works on my Vista... You need to download a .dll file (D3something)

  • @NettmediaHD did that also..it worked...but the flight dynamics and physics are not anything close to being realistic

  • i guess so.

  • will it work on windows 7??

  • yep,i guess so

  • FMS doesnt work :( Or at least wont here.

Get the same issue a lot of people have, backgrounds not rendering etc, even with correct .dll's.

It works perfectly well in XP mode, but hogging up a whole VM's worth of system resources for 1 app...well...

  • @efedude77, yes!

  • i got it black friday!

hope i dnt need to buy that clearview crap

  • do u have a link to buy this?

  • Go to ebay-it's all over the place

  • Did you ever have problems with your landscape? I have a vista with an Nvidia graphics card, but the plane will only show up without the landscape.

  • I have the same pproblem-there are no landscapes.Especially all that island bullshit Nothing

  • I have found the exact thing that he uses in this video. It is a Targus PA060U 4 Port Mobile USB Mini-Hub. I am going to buy a cheap one from target I will let you know if it worked.

  • I have been researching what that device is and the only closest match I found was a USB HUB.

  • VideoMaster I belive I have figured out what we need for vista flying. We need the file and I belive the adapter that he uses is a USB HUB. .

  • Where did you get the extension block from? How much does one cost? I just bought the simulator and I have got win vista. So I guess I need the extension block and the file.

  • What type of other rc flight simulator would you recommend other than this. Like a good quality product. What would be the best buy and what would the price be?

  • good quality? Phoenix rc or realflight or reflex... if you have the money..

  • Will it work on a Mac?

  • hahaha no,nothing works on macs... and u know it...

  • Does it have any 3 channel planes that you can download for it?

  • yes it does here is a great link with multiple trainers... i own the super cub :P

  • This missing .dll file is located inside the Windows XP System32 folder. Just copy it off an XP machine and stick it into the System folder of your Vista system. That's if you have an XP system laying around.

  • Hey Dave, I dont know if you know this but FMS is a free download and I use a Logitech rumble pad controller! It works great and has two thumb controllers that work just like the ones on your rc radio with one exception, the throttle lever snaps back to center when you let it go!

  • PLEASE HELP

my sim will not play the land scape it flickers n u cant see any thing ive only been abel to use it when i take off textur and when im in the aie i cant thee what position im in and how fast im going please help cause i dont wanna break my helicopter

  • same please help!

  • Dave:

I went to your website and see the COntroller version is sold out.

I notice you have a computer SImulation Cable also listed. If you already have a Flight Controller (Radio unit) can that be used and plugged into the computer to drive the software using this cable as an interface. It looks like it is a serial connector or DB9 connector.

    THanks, Jim

  • pls give me a link to the exact location to the dll

  • i dont know is there another cd thats goes to it or is all the software in the controller

  • hey i got the esky model one and i have windows vista basic i need help i pluged it in and nothing happened

  • the program works but my controller doesn't get picked up and won't do anything. what do i do?

  • Well i think u get what u paid for! But this doesnt appeal to me.

  • Please answer me on this: My Graffic on FMS Sux.. its all green and brown, idk why.. the hellichoppers are all fine colours.. but the landscape is only green and brown.. u know why? please answer this

  • go under graphics at the top of the FMS screen and make sure all of the things have a check next to them

    Hope it helps

  • same for mine i have no idea why it happens but i dont care

  • Good to know that some one else has the same problem..:P hehe.. not to be mean.. maybe its just the graffic card or something.. but atleast i am able to fly.. thats the positive thing..

  • are you running yours on vista??

and if so how did you do it

  • it tells you on the start of the video

you need to download the missing .dll file and put it in your system folder located in c:\windows\system\(put dll file here) then depends on the graphics chip it might need some adjustments like turning off or on settings in the graphics menu but that should work

also you need to download fms for vista

google"fms for vista" click on one of the links near the top

  • I just bought Lama derivative 2.4G. It came with the sim cable and MFS. It didn't came with any instructions. However transmitter box acts like a regular joystick in windows. No drivers needed. However, some controls are either reversed or not mapped correctly by default. Took me some time to figure out the settings. But now I can even use my transmitter box with other programs like MS Flight Sim. And play other games that can use joysticks. :)

  • All sims give a false sense of security, but at least teach orientation.

  • i got this and wasnt that happy but then downloaded the clearview one and used it with the conroller and itsso much better

  • Yes, I like clearview better also, and the esky tx works with it too.

  • Hey Dave I just received mine. Im very impressed. For 20 dollars plus shipping, its a great value. I was considering this for a while but wasnt sure if it would be any good. Your video really helped.

My son wants to fly my planes now and this product is just what I needed for him. Plus I'm really enjoying it too.

    Thanks for your videos.

    Emil

  • Thanks and good luck.

  • i just ordered this... it looks real and fun but the sound, sounds funny

  • Yep, clearview is better, but it it the TX and cable you want anyway.

  • can i use a stalk honey bee cp2 6ch controller?

  • Yes.

  • Comment removed

  • Hi Dave, Add my thanks along with many others! Just getting started and own 5 copters already. Don't know how to fly them all. On your advice I got the Esky sim along with my latest purchase: a Blazing Star. QUESTION: My simulator seems to be ULTRA sensitive. I understand SMALL movements but even on the 'exp' setting if I even BREATHE the flight over comps. On reg. settings its near impossible! Im talkin unperceptable movements! I can thread a needle but movements THAT small?

  • Yes, and that is why only 4% of the people who try to fly helis actually do before giving up due to cost of repairs during the learning curve. Hang in there.

  • Thanks much. Now that I know what to aspire to I've gotten MUCH better! I just needed to be sure that my goal was realistic. By the way, I've built your training stand..GREAT idea! Thanks! At 53 I'm an old dog learning new tricks. I should wear a 4%er patch (after I earn that status)......wonder what my biker friends would think? LOL

  • Just FYI. FMS is free software and you can download it from their web site. When you are buying it, you actually buying the controller box. And at 20 bux it well worth it. But FMS will work with other controllers too. Also transmitters from ESKY with computer interface install themselves as standard windows game controllers and they should work with other simulators that support joysticks.

  • I am pretty sure I mentioned that in my video and in the description box. It is the TX and the cable you want anyway, as clearview is much better and the TX works with it. See my clearview videos. None of the esky tx's work with the best sim and my favorite, Aerofly Pro deluxe, so for $20, is it hard to go wrong.

  • Yea, I downloaded it and it's great. A German dude designed it, hence the German warbirds. The 109 is the only one included that lets you do high alpha slow flying.

  • Hey there Dave,

First of all thanks for all your great vids, they taught me a lot.

Second: Can I use the cheap E-Sky transmitter on a program like Aerofly or Realflight?

  • Thanks. Nope, it wont work on Aerofly. You need their tx or a cable that matches your Helicopter radio, which you have to order when you order AFPD.

  • my FMS sim has more planes than that!!!!!

i have things like the supercup and ms 262 and 163

  • When I made this video a year and a half ago, this is what you got. Things change, but I cant change this video. I still like the clearview the next best cheap sim.

  • Thanks Dave for this video.

  • Your welcome sir.

  • ...It's great fun

  • thanks for the vista info i just ordered thie fms simulator for myself and i went ahead and downloaded the file into my computer before i get my simulator so hopefully it will work right off

  • if any ones interested i use a site called RC-Sim-Download - Downloads to download aircraft and landscape

  • Thanks.

  • were is the windowsvista32????

  • It is a folder in your computer. Open Windows Explorer to find it under C:/Windows

  • Oh, this is great video! gotta say it too, coz it seems there is nothing wrong with my sim, it's just pure skills :) and as pro says this is good, it gives xtra motivation burst to practise on it. Thanx!!

  • Does anyone know if this can be installed on a ps3? I think it would be AWESOME to learn to fly on a nice high def flat screen!! Any help greatly appreciated!

  • try it but i really doubt youll et anywhere

  • hey can you give me the link to that website that lets it work on vista beacause i bought mines and it is comming in the mail on friday and i have vista

  • Dll-downloads(.)com

  • This video is just what I needed to eliminate the doubts I was having. The graphics are ok, but more importantly, the models fly realistic. I could never justify blowing almost $200 on th "G" series of sims. For $20, how can I go wrong with ESKY's?

  • True. Now go download Clearview as the TX is compatible with it. You will really like that one for $39. See my video.

  • Dave, an extension block (USB hub) is not a requirement for all computers; it is only required when the USB ports on the computer don't "behave properly" (i.e. according to spec). In these situations, using a USB hub helps because the hubs are more likely to behave exactly according to the USB specifications. Some USB ports on computers are notoriously badly behaved - the VIA USB chips get special mention here for working with hubs and not much else. Hence why connecting a hub fixed the issue.

  • And I should add, it is also the fault of E-Sky for creating their "TX" in a manner which only worked with USB chips in computers which behave *exactly* according to the USB standards. Sometimes you need to program in a little "give".

  • I never blamed anybody either. In vista, the DLL had to be downloaded as in many other sims I have, but eventually I got them all to work, logical or not.

  • I know what your saying, as I have had to "force" certain transmitters to work with mine. .

All the sims I have do not run with all my transmitters either, so it seems all of the mfgs have not given enough give. LOL.

  • Yes, I know all that. But it is hard to argue with success and when I tried it it worked, so.

  • True enough!

  • How much did you pay for te extension block

  • It is a universal USB hub and I paid $15.

  • hey can anyone help me, im running it on vsta and i have d2drm.dll istlaled and when i start fms i can view anythin gt just flckers. help pls

  • does this game have any a-10 warthogs?

  • No.

  • nice

  • Thanks.

  • I have vista too and when i try to upload the d3drm software it says that i nedd to create an association in the set associations control panel. did you do this? how do i?

  • I didnt do that. Just drag the file into the program and it should work.

  • it says that i need aerofly deluxe but i have esky

  • I know, but most of them will work anyway.

  • thanks

  • how do you download these planes?

  • go to aerofly(.)com and then go to FREE stuff. Then look at each link and click on the "easy fly models" Most will work.

  • can you get an expansion???

  • You can download lots of free airplanes and stuff, but I know of no expansion packs for this.

  • Dave,

    How is the included transmitter?

  • If you order the ESky Simulator, you get the Transmitter for $19.95 and the FMX program comes with it free. Seen my Clearview vid yet? It is waaay better. Thanks for the introduction.

  • Where can I get the resister block? I've downloaded the DLL file and mine still doesn't work (I'm running Vista).

  • It is just a USB hub. The hub has nothing to do with the program not running, it only is for some Tx's to be recognized.

  • are these hb hard to fly?

  • Only 4% of the people who try to learn helicopters actually succeed. So it depends on your skills. The HB fixed pitch is easy, compared to a B400 or other type of 3d heli.

  • I'm sry but FMS Needs a major overhaul, they should use panoramic spheres. Theres too much 3d landscape which results in slow FPS, plus you can't devote as much to rendering effects. I really like aerofly, I have yet to try G4

  • Yep, well FMS if free, so what can you expect? It still helps with orientation, though. I have both G4.5 and still only fly Aerofly, when I want to really practice, as I agree, it is the best and keeps me on my toes when I have winds and gusts turned on.

  • Don't be surprised when you crash your first aircraft after using this... G4.5 is THEE BEST simulator out. It has been proven. If it's $20 it's gonna fly like $20... CRAP.

  • People still crash helis using any heli sim. Aerofly Pro deluxe won top awards for the best world wide, and the one I recommend. I used to work for real flight.

Any tool, to teach orientation and controls is still better than nothing, but in reality, only 4% of the people who try to fly helis make it.

  • are there any 6ch flight sims out there? that you dont have to buy a 6ch helicopter with the cord..

  • Aerolfy Pro deluxe can use many computer radios and you can buy it with or without a tx.

  • hmm thats a pretty expensive one.. im just looking for a simulator that can teach me how to fly 4ch and 6 ch helis :P i think im just going to go with the E-sky 4ch simulator for 20 dollars..

  • i am considering buying this simulator.but i currently have windows home vista installed on it,so do i have to have the rx cable running through theresistors in a junction box as you say, also i am considering buying the twisters coastguard model for my first r/c model and i dont wish to crash it,also will it be possible for me to upgrade to a 2,4 receiver later on for this mode and what will the benifits be for me

    thank you

  • If your 2.0 usb port does not work, then try the USB hub as I did, is my best advice.. The benefits of the 2.4 g are simply that there is no conflict with other radios on the same frequency. Othewise they are the same. If your flying around a bunch of other fliers, there is an advantage to that, but if you by yourself, just leave it stock.

  • do you know how to get more models for esky

  • a lot of free models can be downloaded that will work from aerofly(.)com

  • yes that D3D program was a pain in the rear glad I found it. oh btw got the RC F18 from Exceed the only problem is that I don't know how to fly it hehe.. well better hit the sims to learn right lol.

  • like can you make it like your flying a 3 ch plane

  • Not many mods can be made to this program, but other planes can be downloaded along with 3 channel ones, like Cessnas.

  • I got that rc sim 4 years ago around internet... my opinion is that the best rc sim remains Realflight G4.

  • Yep, very true, I used to work for Knifeedge software and Realflight on the very first version, but since Aerofly came along and has won top honors for the best world wide, I parked it. RF, none the less, is an excellent sim, though.

  • Will it work with a MAC?

  • No.

  • i don't know how to connect a radio control to the FMS because i have a laptop... is there a special cable avaiable to do this???
