Now appearing on the Field of Dreams, at catcher, #8, Gary Carter. Show Shoeless Joe and the rest of the boys how you get an all-or-nothing inning, with 2 outs and nobody on started Kid.
Ultimate father/son movie. There is not 1 man out there that has not cried at the end of this movie. It is one of those that you don't even hide a tear. I've seen it probably 500 times and know it line for line and I still tear up at the end of it. I watched it with my father when I was a kid, and now I have my son, and I'll watch it with him.
Do you know where you'll spend eternity? Heaven or Hell? Take this quick test. Are you a good person? Have you ever lied, stolen, hated someone, lusted upon someone in your heart, disobeyed your parents, taken God's name in vain, etc? The Bible says "None are good", "no not one". No one is a good person because we have "all sinned and fallen short of God's glory" (Romans 3:23) The Bible says that we deserve to be punished in Hellfire for eternity for sinning against an infinitely Holy God
@dandan688 But God desires none to perish in Hell so that is why God became a man (Jesus Christ). He lived a sinless perfect life and went to the cross and laid His life down. He was crucified and took the wrath of God on Himself for our sins. Now a payment for sin was met. He was buried and then in three days He rose again defeating death and sin. The good news is this.. That if you repent (turn away from your sin) and trust in Jesus you will be completely forgiven of all sin and be saved
@dandan688 While I agree with virtually everything you have said, might I warn you that if you bring religion into places like this, people will ridicule you and curse you. I am not telling you to stop bringing religion into places like these, but be ready, you will have to defend your faith.
when i was in my high school marching band we listened to this song before every contest while we were stretching. we went on to when nationals in 2006 and 2011. this song is very meaningful to me and it represents all those years i spent with my best friends
I'm not gonna lie, I get teary eyed in the end when he plays catch with his dad...makes me realize how much I take my dad for granted and everything he has taught me and helped me to become
My parents got me into this film. I still dont quite fully understand the full meaning of this. But my grandad lives far away from me. And i love him sooo much. And when i seen the field in the film the man walking thru it makes me remember my grandad and how he can always be found out there. :) I no it sounds kina weird but this song just makes me think of him and my whole family. Its just magical. Im 21 and i am just in love with this film. i cant explain i just get a connection with this....
Have you ever lied? stolen? lusted after someone? taken God's name in vain? hated someone? If so you have sinned before a Holy God. Your sin demands punishment in a place called Hell. But God is rich in mercy and grace so He sent His Son, Jesus (who is fully God and fully man) to die upon the cross for those sins. We broke the law He paid our fine. If we repent (turn from sin) and trust in Him alone for forgiveness we will be saved and given eternal life free. Only by faith in Christ.

@5Fan5 I will try to do so (even though I am in Texas). I work in the fall for USSBA, and travel to a lot of marching shows, so perhaps I will be able to see your school at some point in time. It sounds like a great concept for a show. Good luck to you guys.
I used this song in the finale for a film I made for highschool graduation while a great writer and fellow student read something she wrote over images of students of the class of 1997. Almost the entire audience was literally sobbing. And this was VHS tape to tape editing before all you youtubers were doing it :) James Horner did all the work. My media teacher suggested doing it without the music...I almost had a heart attack.
Just makes me think of walking into the most beautiful ball park you've ever seen. The smell of the grass, the crunch of the dirt under your cleats, and the feel of maple in your hand. You step into the box where hanging curveballs flow like wine. And where the sky has never been so blue. The smack of the leather sounding sweeter than the nectar of a honey bee. The crack of the bat, like a gunshot, and the the rich aroma of the wood, as you kiss the bat for good luck. That's what i see.
Baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.
@dje81 Yes, life was good... it really was... I was born in 68 and was still lucky enough to experience and live in a time where you didn't' have to lock your doors. Where you could turn to your neighbors for help... I just watched this movie last night... and it brought all the memories back... And it made me cry... people were so much more respectful of each other and caring and kind... no, not perfect but more understanding and willing to learn and forgive. That's what we are missing...

Look at him.
He's got his whole life in front of him,and I'm not even a glint in his eye.
What do I say to him?"
"Why don't you introduce him to his granddaughter?"
