• The Ukraine. Yeah said it. I don't hate the country, I hate the teenage boys who come out of it. w

  • @N3B0R3D чи ти фашист, чи комуніст, чи кацап - до нас ані ногою. ані ти, ані твої погані родичі.помри спокійно в своєму безграмотному болоті.

  • I love this band. They're just GREAT!!! Greetings from Polish guy who lives in London.GRAJ,KOZACZE!!!!!

  • yes i was there totally epic night im seein them again on sat in ashton at the Ukrainian club on stockport road OL7 ONP with 2 other bands 8 quid entry on the door garunteed to be a good night

  • You only have legal rights to a country other than your birthland of you have two citizinships, finished and klaar. And two citizenships (or more) also mean responsibilities, military, social and politically.

  • великий

  • What a lot of tripe!. The people in the Diaspora are the ones who have kept Ukrainian traditions ,songs, and language alive all these years. Therefor they have a right to produce music, and anything else, in the Ukrainian way. If it was not for the 3rd and 4th generation Uk's in these far off lands where would the current Ukrainians draw there heritage from. Not the collapsed regime of the past 60 odd years who tried every which way to destroy this precious culture.

  • What caused the Diaspora? I agree. My parents did not leave Ukraine, willingly. If it wasn't for Pres. Truman, I may not be alive today. If it wasn't for Stalin, as well as the the Nazis, I may be living in Ukraina. Who do you think I curse? =Stefan=

  • Chengloki,

My gripe is with the people who come on the comments and try to start big note themselves and dispute who is Ukrainian or has a right to call themselves Ukrainian. Here in Australia we have fourth generation, mixed heritage Irish or Scot and when they use/keep their respective O'Flannigan or McTavish name they call themseves as Scot or Irish and no one will argue that they are not.

  • We have Mel Gibson ,who came from the States (I think) and lived and trained in Australia. We call him an Australian , Sam Neil we call as one of ours and he came from New Zealand. We call whoever we want as one of ours when it suits us and this goes for all the nations. A Russian parented athlete born in Ukraine is Ukrainian when competing on Ukraine team and is Russian when later in life changes to live in Russia and represent them instead.

  • My point is that if a person has a heritage of whatever number of generations and they feel to be of that culture then they are free to call themselves of that culture. If they are no good then they will fail and disappear as many have done.

  • So what are you trying to say!! I am first born US, My parents were from the Ukraine. They wer displaced from their homeland, and by default, so was I. My father told me about the home farm. I do not have a mixed heritage. I am 100% Ukrainian. I do not claim the right to be Ukrainian, I AM UKRAINIAN!!! =Stefan=

  • I suppose what I'm saying is that You can call yourself any nationality you want (if you are connected by blood, and some would argue philisophycal belief).Unfortunatly, when it comes to claiming right of ownership of traditional(cross border)land or inheritance then you are subject to the Laws and regulations of where you live and the country from which you want to gain ownership.

  • Unless that country recognises your heritage by blood, although a citizen of another country, and allows you take ownership(such as inheritance title of Lords in England)then you can have only a claim in name only .I stand to be corrected as this is not my field.

  • My initial comment was against those who say that because we are not born in a country we cannot call ourselves by that nationality and the petty arguements that they cause.

  • My parents were Ukrainian,I was born in Australia and therefor I am an Australian, but, according to my peirs I am also Ukrainian.(No arguement from me).Iam a Australian born Ukrainian with Australian citizenship rights by birth. What legal rights do I have in Ukraine by being of Ukrainian heritage?

  • Aussie, same as mine. Absolutely none at all. Even if you should try to claim your inheritance, it will not happen. Believe me, my brother and I tried. "The record's were destroyed". "We do not recognize your claim". We gave up. If you wan't to try, be my guest. I'm tired of fighting a beaurocracy.I just wan't to live my life. =Stefan=

  • i know how it feels man.

    russia ruined it for everyone.

  • Aussie, Me again. We have talked about rights. There is no such thing as God given rights. The only rights we have are those granted by the state. Think about that!=Stefan=

  • NO you are not Ukrainian! you would not put the prefix THE before Ukraine if you where!

  • fair comment, why do people do that with THE Ukraine??? stop having this debate on you tube you sad t*!ts, now i've joined in!!!!

  • @brachni : I heard they are originally Ukranians who spent their lives in america, so in that case the name fits very well ^

  • @arthurtymcyshyn : One of the goup had Ukrainian ancestry, Peter Solowka....they where from Leeds and Solowka and Len Leggins where part of a UK brit pop band called the wedding present with Dave Gedge and they 1st did a Ukrainian session for radio 1 produced by the late John Peel.

  • @brachni Are you ukrainian?

  • @brachni

The word Ukraine means "borderalnd". It is appropriate to say "The Ukraine", in that sense. In fact, Ukraine is just a term for an area with different kinds of people in it. There are Polonians and Volhinians in the West, Tatars in the South, etc.

  • @Vovk3

___"The word Ukraine means "borderalnd"."___ - it's only theory among others. other it is said to be derived from the old slavic word 'kraina', meaning 'country', and therefore, according to this understanding of the term, 'u-kraina' means 'in-country' or 'my-country ___"with different kinds of people in it."___ - nazis delirium lie. Ethnic groups in Ukraine - 77.8 % Ukrainian, 17.3 % Russian, 4.9 % others.

  • @midori0umi

Thanks Mr. Snobby. Look, I don't really care much about the Ukrainian state itself. Regions and tribes are of more importance. I don't care how many "Ukrainians", "Russians", or "other ethnic groups" there are, nor their percentages.

  • this is abslutely great and a lot of Ukrainian bands actually copy from these "UK r." gentlemen, including Vopli Vidopliassova or Hajdamaky. ScotsExile13 is brainles idiot.

  • Hands up any one who went to Tarasivka in Weston On Trent, Derbyshire as a kid? From what i remember it was full of Ukies from Ashton and "Volverhampton" as my old man used to say!! Good times!! but the swimming pool was always freezing!!

  • Check my DNA. You will find 100% Ukrainian stock. In fact, my father was a kozak. You young kids don't realize, that for the longest time, there was no real Ukrainian music to listen to. (At least new stuff). Lenny and his band are keeping our music and language alive. Please, don't dis him. =Stefan=

  • Can you say "knob-cheese merchant" on YouTube? Does it matter where it comes from (the music, not the cheese)? Where's Davny Chasy, where's Oy Divcheno? Maybe bands should have a DNA test?

  • He's well-versed on The Ukrainians. What would happen if I went over to Ukraine and started making music? Would it be Ukrainian music? I play in a band of Ukrainian musicians called Yarema, of which I'm the only non-Ukrainian; we play traditional Ukrainian melodies, in our own style, and we happen to live in England. Is it not Ukrainian music, or would we have to live there for it to be so? It's not even relevant where the musicians come from: it's the music's origin that's important.

  • He lives in Ukraine - not Yorkshire and watches real Ukrainian bands... AND doesn't pretend he's Ukrainian...

  • Mmmm. ScotsExile13 is a knob-cheese merchant.

  • Sad Diaspora attempt at Ukrainian music. -- If you want to hear what real Ukrainians listen too check out amongst others Vopli Vidopliassova, THMK and the Mad Head (XL) and leave these English men -- for that is what they are - on the shelf... Long live real Ukrainian bands and let forget the plastic Diaspora disaster like this.

  • TNMK and Vopli are good, but this is also not bad :) is it a diaspora band?

  • That was a wicked night!

  • Great! Ukrajinci - super!
