Some people use it in sexual assault cases which is blatantly incorrect and wrong.

For the record though, the 4 witnesses thing was put in place by Mohammed for adultery cases, especially for the protection of women. He didn't want people just accusing their wives of adultery. So in order to try a case against a wife, or husband, you would have to have 4 witnesses who literally saw the act. In theory it makes almost all adultery cases null and void. Some people use it in sexual assault cases which is blatantly incorrect and wrong.

Plus, in cases of consentual rape with the testimony of 4 witnesses, both parties should receive punshiment of 70 lashes according to Islam.
