  • uhm...I wouldn't say this is exactly a piece where you would smile very much since it's very intense, and the style of this piece is not a piece where you would sway with the flow of the music. Music is a talent and a gift. Some people cannot tell a note worth a shit, and some can hear the slightest off pitch. But also, the difference in your work ethics and how much you are pushed to your limits can determine your skill. Not race.

  • Fantastic sound and energy, speed of bow, concentration, technique... Good for her! Bravo to her teacher, and congratulations to this girl.

  • Level:ASIAN

  • I'm 13 and i can't play as well as her :( .....psh..... asians....wait i'm asian.. does that mean i'm a bad kid?

  • @inkymouse123 No, it just means you mom needs to be sent to Tiger Mom Training Camp ;-)

  • Have you guys missed the most OBVIOUS clue here? She is Asian. I have nothing against Asians, but it is a plain fact that this kind of thing is far too common among this ethnicity. It is not because Asians are good at everything. It is Asian society influencing the parents to push their children harder and harder. Trust me, you can tell if one is enjoying their instrument.

  • Bravo. :-))

  • A pesar de sus 7 añitos y vena la seriedad y madurez con que toca!!! maravillosa...

  • Asian

  • Champion of Vienna Cup...NOT an easy win!!!

  • She has excellent control, fine technique....a real pro at such a young age....spoken by an ex violinist

  • Her technique and artistry are really good! This is really impressive.

  • Random comment: I like that crisp snap she's got going on at the end of certain notes^^ The pianist's playing was beautiful, also :D

  • sehr schön! Wunderschön!! <3

  • Artificial talent? That's probably the dumbest thing I've ever heard!!

    Talent is talent.

  • i dnt knw what everyones complaining about. she looks like she's pretty into it to me, her body may not be "swaying" but her hands seem to be enjoing themselves :3

  • That is the hardest music in the whole world!! You know, I'm an amateur violinist.

  • For her age the technique is very good...

You can do a scientific study teaching a selected group to play a difficult song. After 1000h practice (just 1 song) see how many can play it?

Gymnasts from E Europe (places like Romania & Bulgaria) used to get gold medals in competitions. You put kids in environment with few distractions (TV, movie theatres, video games), I am sure they'd be successful doing what they're trained for...

  • For her age she did good but I feel like this piece is for someone who can handle a lot of vibrato and have wide range if emotion while not having any trouble getting the notes right. She looks very bored and lineage doesn't want to play it. But she definitely has some talent

  • I am not sure if some people understand what it takes to be a virtuoso...

Talent obviously has some part, but it's more practice than talent...I would recommend all of you guys to read "Outliers" by Malcom Gladwell...he talks about 10,000 hours of practice to be excellent on something...this could be playing the violin or playing the piano or even computer programming...

If you think about how to get to 10,000 hours by 10 years old, or even 20 years old, you can do the math on how many hours a

  • The child prodigy doesn't exist, but only more or less talented children and you can only help them with more or less success, but not forcing them for a long period, if they don't accept your "offer" (the same like force them to eat something they don't like).

Than, the "artificial talent" doesn't exist, but only more or less of the talent.

But one thing is "natural": there are a lot of persons like "audrrey..." who've been forced to became the racist, or, at least, to live without criteria!

  • How can someone say this is ARTIFICIAL talent? There is no such thing. Playing this well doesn't come simply from technique and practice. There needs to be emotion BEHIND the playing for it to sound this amazing. Sure, you can create melodies with proper technique, but to create music like this you need to have a love for what you're doing. This girl is obviously taking this seriously, and think about it. She's in front of a large crowd. OF COURSE she's going to take it seriously!

  • thats disgusting..

  • she is a genius.

    blessing!

  • how does she memorize that???????????? she is really good

  • I don't know if is an artificial talent or not..I hope for her only only to like what she is doing and I hope she has enough time for play with toys and dolls because also if she has a so straordinary talent I don't think she wants to spend hour and hour of her little days on the tuning, technic of bowing and shiftings.I really hope for her.

  • I'm learning this at 12 :\

  • Wow! ...and by memory!

  • Wow, aznsoul3, you think it's a real talent? Do you know what is music? When I heard this, I was shocked and flustered, I wondered did she handle vibration, the espagnol feeling, or even find the notes. NO NO NO

  • HOLY CRABCAKES

  • Good performance for a youngster. I'd suggest giving her a chromatic tuner.

  • how she learnt it is all through her own hard work even if it is the result of being forced every one keep leaving such coments saying she's being forced to do this and it's artificial talent but if she didn't practice she wouldn't be this good i think it is unfair to her. going through with all the practice just to hear everyone criticise her???????

  • true, but parental pressure is not all bad. in fact, parental pressure is key to most childrens' success (in moderation however). we also cannot assume from this video that she is being forced simply because of her pensive mood and facial expression.

  • Out of pitch, no espagnol music's feeling, more slower than the original speed!

She was definitely forced to play this hard piece.

  • how many years old is he

  • bravo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this isn't helping the asian-musico-superiority-theorem..... she's been playing since she was a zygote...

  • This is an excellent performance for a child. Emotion and character is developed with time, but it is wonderful she is learning these pieces now and developing her technique. Later she can revisit these pieces and play it with the maturity of age. In addition, you can see from her movements that she has a lot of natural talent for the instrument, and the main problems are intonation, which is a matter of better technique (not emotion!).

Way to go! Continue developing your technique when young!

  • 음정이전혀않맞다ㅋ,,

  • @choisubin96 dude i know lollll....

  • bravo

  • The highest notes in a phrase are always out. Strange, when the other notes are all totally accurate and crystal-clear. Winning a competition like this, the only decisive factor is her age. If I were her parents I wouldn't proudly post this. It's an emotional piece and emotionally she's far from perfect. 'Emotional' practice comes with age, so whoever chose the piece isn't thinking properly too. Could have taken something straight off Vivaldi / Bach, would do even better and perfect the piece.

  • Technically it's good... but it's just too unnatural. I'm learning this piece, and it's quite hard.

  • respect

  • Ii think she should look up Ellie Choi. They are both very good.

  • I think she enjoys playing the violin, but not to the extent that he parents force her to play it. In fact, because of the pressure from her parent she may even have developed a bit of a dislike for it. Also, it's a lot of pressure to be a prodigy, as Itzhak said most prodigies burn out before they have a chance to become truly successful. It'll only be 7 years until this girl is 14 and we all know what can happen to children at that age.

  • she also has great intonation, and very mature phrasing especially for her age.

  • To all the people complaining about how she doesn't understand the music or anything: Get a life. The end. No matter what you think, you have to admit: this kid has great technique. She sure does look like she's into the music. I know that I always look angry and grouchy when I play performances.

  • i think she is way too young to understand the music... playing an instument isn't only about tehnic and, in this case, intonation...

  • Pauvre petite....

  • how do you people know she doesn't enjoy the violin and she was forced to? just because she's not smiling doesn't mean she doesn't like to play the violin.

  • ugh fuckin asians, i cant stand this shyt

  • She's got talent, but she has needs to work A LOT on the technical part of her playing AND this piece. Maybe its her teacher was too eager, but later, she's going to regret it. If she goes on like this, she will have to spend around 4 YEARS fixing everything. She needs to slow down and actually get that violin working properly

  • c'est un peu faux tout de même.

  • this is sickening.

  • People who claim this as artificial talent must be jealous. Unlike people playing video games all day, she probably treats music as an enjoyment instead, much more productive I'd think. And how do u tell that she's not enjoying playing? That she's not "swaying" enough? That she's not smiling while playing? Different people have different playing styles. Learn to accept that and the fact that some people are just more talented at a younger age.

  • @aznsoul3 , i agree. i think the reason she isn't smiling is because she's nervous.

  • @aznsoul3

Okay, since we're both asians here, I think we would both understand what is happening.

I am trying to not stereotype, but I really don't expect her to be playing video games, especially at this age, and when she has high expectations of her violin playing. But I guess you are right that I shouldn't be assuming that she doesn't enjoy playing. ^-^

This girl likely lives in China, and it's expected that this stuff happens. But idk, she could be a future world player. You never know.

  • @aznsoul3 In addiction: Did usually musicians giggling while playing instruments?

  • She is so little and she's playing this. Either she practices 5 hours every day or she's magic. Is that a half size violin

  • 99.99999999999(well you get the idea)% of the violinists in the world got pwned

  • Phantastisches Geigenspiel, die Kleine wird eine ganz Große

  • child exploitation much?

  • as a taiwanese violin player who has played this symphonie, i can say that she does have talent but its clear that she doesnt enjoy playing the violin. i get how she feels. however, as i have gotten older, although my parents still force me to practice, i have grown to express myself through music and enjoy it more. so, she has hope in that respect. i hope this girl sees this comment, because you are really really great and have so much potential if you learn to love it.

  • to everybody:

i am half tawianese and i also play the violin, and im currently working on this concerto at the age of fourteen. Compared to her, im not very good :P but in my little hometown im really good, and i know a lot about asian parents dealing with talent. thing is, they do push. and yes, i have experienced forced practice, and it isnt fun. but its not like they actually abuse her! (most likely) yes, it is a gift, but if you hate it like i do, its also a curse :(

  • wat is this i dont even

herpaderpaderpderp I don't care if she's 5 and cries she's gonna practice 25 hours a day. What's that? You hungry? Win some fucking awards and then we'll talk.

  • EXCELLENTE.. PERFECT.. but.. Do chinese children ever have a childhood??

  • @OrianaDiazL You make me sick. They're not Chinese. Look, it says Taiwan. Yes they do have childhood. Just because they're Asian doesn't mean that their parents force them to play the violin. Some people actually LIKE to play on their own without any forcing from their parents.

  • @theviolinmusicfan I didn't read the description, man! Well, I just said so becasue I have chinese friends whose children are forced to...But honestly it is not about me or abput what U think but about the little girls talent :) Oops!!! She's cute, by the way :) Oh.. take your medicine.. I made U sick XD

  • look at that straight pinky

  • musicality- 10/10 for her age

technicality- 5/10 why play a piece like this so early? it's too technically advanced for her age and physique

  • 你很好!

  • She has real talent, but I think it's artificial talent... she looks like she's been forced to do this :/

If you want to see a child prodigy who actually really understands and LOVES the violin, you should search Elli Choi.

  • @audreyeatworld Artificial? what do u mean? I just think it is normal for them to play like that!! :)And yes.. I agree with u when y say they are forced.. My friends' children are..... but who knows.. they like it as well XD and this little girl plays really good :):)

  • @audreyeatworld ya...she is good, but something is kinda missing...I guess I can say that she is VERY good technically, but still "immature" for a hard musical piece like this. The music and the passion is not really coming out...

  • @audreyeatworld

Artificial talent?? What does that mean for a 7 year old who can play better than most undergraduate music students?

She has a lot of natural talent, and if she is not discourage by comments such as yours, she may develop into a wonderful musician by the time she is a teenager.

This is wonderful playing by a very young child, it is truly admirable. Keep learning! We wish you all good things for your future!!

  • @expgnwlf

Aight, that comment was posted 9 months ago, 3 cool points for you.

Okay, you are right that I shouldn't judge her without knowing her story, but that also goes for you. However, it's not only possible, but likely that she has been forced to get to this standard by her parents. That's just how it works in China. But I do wish her luck, I just hope she hasn't been staying inside practicing Espagnole, instead of playing outside with her friends.

  • @audreyeatworld Well, I don't know what you're talking about because she obviously has tons of musicianship.

  • @audreyeatworld thats wat the parrents do if they want the kid to be succsefull they make them pratice 24/7,...

  • @audreyeatworld I looked up Elli Choi and I really don't see how you can come to the conclusion, based on watching this video, that the girl in this video has been forced and is "artificial" and Elli hasn't and is "natural." You think that because this girl is from China (it's Taiwan, FYI) and some children there are forced, then she is? But Asian children in the US, Korea, etc. also deal with that stereotype, and doesn't that mean Elli had to have been forced too?

  • @audreyeatworld If you listen closely and more carefully, she's actually got something going on. Plus, she's got a brilliant stage presence going on for someone her age, and if the performance was artificial, that aura wouldn't be there.

  • wow! amazing, to play like this at her age....very big talent, i'm so envious =) =)! i love her!

  • cuuuute

  • Great player, cute girl, there's talent everywere.

    Bravo girl!!!

  • not an easy piece to play ,intonation misses slightly on slow passages, the complicated parts she nails almost perfect.

  • Amazing in every way. Sounds superb!

  • soo... who wants to guess how many times this kid was beaten into playing the right notes at home?? just like the little miss pageants contestants are....

anyways if this didn't happen its awesome.

  • for her age.. astounding.. but.. I think there is a lot of ground she should have covered technically before starting something like Lalo...

  • Bravo!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i really like the stickers on her bow ;-)

  • Firstly it sound boring... But after awhile it shock me! It is so unbelievable! Oh my gosh! She's expression is so good... It is good if she become a teacher next time.

  • Her musicality is AMAZING - I'd love to see her again in a couple years when her arms and fingers have grown a bit and she's graduated to a full size violin - oh the things she could do then.

  • she amazed me.=) aww

  • tht girl is really good! ^^ she's gonna be really talented when she grows up!

  • great for her age, but she looks really upset.

  • Very cute!

  • God!! how can she plays for that way?? !!! maybe something i´ll can play some instrument!! girl you are awsome!!

  • wow...I'm ALMOST twice as old as her...ok maybe about 3 years older? and I can't play this half as well. it's so CUTE!!! but still really good...:)

  • One in a million are BORN with this gift. Don't blame the parents for "pushing" her. She's a natural! No kind of pushing of the rest of the million kids will produce what you see here.

How about telling us this kid's name!

  • One in a million are BORN with this gift. Don't blame the parents for "pushing" her. She's a natural! No kind of pushing of the rest of the million kids will produce what you see here.

  • wow! wow! this is awesome!

  • La petite fillette est toute mignonne! BRAVO!

  • hamma cool =)

    gut gemacht kleines mädchen :D

  • Little Star, congratulations, you are a miracle. Keep up the good work and enjoy the results of your dedication... and sometimes let everyone know, that you indeed enjoy playing the violin.

  • 小妹妹提琴拉得很棒。 請繼續努力。

  • I am very excited to see a little girl from my hometown doing so well. I am wondering why any child who is great in playing an instrument has to be pushed by his/her parents.

    Kudos to her parents!

  • brava!

  • wow!!!!

  • genius! omg bravo!

  • 1 of my fav violinists... 5/5 starZ

  • good job dear

  • Not the best version i ever heard..but for her age its really good...I played this song with the age of 13...

  • She will eventually rise above. My daughter is 7 and plays on a half size, and is terribly unchallenged by the more childlike songs. It depends on the kid, she may have violinists in her family that play this piece and has learned by listening or playing along... I think she is great and ba humbug to all the neg. commentators!

  • @thestringdreams wait is this your daughter?

  • Bravo!

  • gosh shes really good for her age!!! actually, shes good for any age ;)

  • Toca muy bien, son en estas cosas donde se ve el trabajo.¿ Me puedes dar las partituras?

  • I find so endearing that she is playing this piece at seven years old and she still has placement stickers on her bow. Also it sounds crappy because how good of quality do you expect a quarter or even half size of a violin to be?

  • There are a lot of things her technique could use, but for her age, this is astounding.

  • O.M.G!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • heyy is says tht this was in 2004 so like its been five years and how good do u think she is ??? =]

    nicee job

  • I'd say she's talented....or just has been practicing a lot and stuff...but I really don't like her sound. It's not very nice, sounds kinda crappy, like I'm surprised she can play this concerto the way she sounds. I mean I know this piece isn't easy, I mean I'm working on Lalo's Cello Concerto now, but I don't know, I don't think her sound has matured enough. Plus I hear chinese violins are crappy, and if she has one, that could explain a few things about the sound.

  • can u do better?

  • BRAVOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • it may be torturous for her to have to practice so much. if she's practicing 7 hrs a day, it's not as much of a gift as one sees in this video. and it's only torture if she doesn't enjoy it. most of the time, these child stars are pushed by parents.

  • Its not torture. Its a gift.

  • Can someone tell me what Grade level/book this piece is in?

  • сколько ей лет

    How old she&&

  • Oh my got!!!You are relly good

  • i never knew how long this song was

  • imagine how epic she'll be fullgrown with accual weight on her arm

  • calmate maestro, ya quisieras tener esa edad, tocar frente a toda la escuela y ganar esa copa ;)

  • yeah, of course she's not as good as an adult violinist (intonation/bow, that stuff). but you must consider that the sound would be a lot better if she played with a 4/4 violin

  • thats good!!!

i like the arrangement for piano too

  • Nossa, MUITOS BOM!!! PARABÉNS!!

    Deus Abençoe cada vez Mais!

  • Should really have five stars

  • agreed

  • One unknown idiot making a useless comment in a nice video is disregarded. Ten thousand of them gets boring.

  • somehow i feel as if that violin is speaking with a young child's voice....

  • Although it is played very well for her age, I agree with queenofthevideos: she should play something that is more suiting her age. She will have time to play the really difficult music, and now it is more like learning a trick.

  • Wow! Great!

  • That's of course too difficult for her and she must have practiced it a lot, but she did it amazingly well and she seems to enjoy her violin

  • Parabéns!!! Esta menina emociona o mundo inteiro, não importa em qual idioma pensamos, todos sentimos a preciosidade musical.

  • Comment removed

  • she should take those stickers off of her bow now that she's like good and all!

  • This piece is beyond her. I bet she would be excellent if she tried something easier. She should work on her vibrato, its too slow and maybe she should try this piece when she has a bigger violin because the high notes dont sound that good.

  • Vibrato has many different colors to some pieces in this case her vibrato is just fine. but she could very well indeed use a little more RED (or whatever) in her vibrato for some parts of this piece like when she shifts into the higher notes for instance.

  • in my opinion, i think she shouldnt be playing this, its too hard for her. when shes older, she nail it well!

  • actually, i think she's already nailing it pretty good :)

  • Shouldnt kids play music for kids? Happy and funny? definitly not Lalo... It just... dont fit :(

still very good. Just not something I expect to hear from young girl.

  • Poor kid, I'm sure, her whole childhood consists of 'practice, practice, practice'... rather than friends or playing

  • yees she indeed is tortued...lol

  • whats wrong with that?

  • mui bien tokado bastante bien saludos wapita

  • I'd like to here you play this better. :P

  • is that a joke? I won a competition with this piece -- $500. i don't care how old she is, if you're going to play and perform a piece, it better be good, otherwise don't play it.

  • Maybe you're good maybe your full of sh... I'm sure that if you don't recognize that this kid is fantastic you'll never be a great violinist.

  • especially when she still has sticker on her bow

  • She's like, 2. Give her some credit.

  • agreed, this is pretty damn impressive for what, a 6 year old? i mean really. props. i wonder how long it took her to learn it..

  • she has quite a few intonation issues. even though this was 'great' for her age, i dont think that she should, rather anyone, should be symphonie espagnol at such a young age as this. bravi anyway though. :)

  • I gotta admit, i think she plays better than me;P

  • man. I am a lot older than her and only have the first two pages learned.

  • ridicule

  • wow. i feel like an idiot. she plays with so much power! i wish i can play the piece this well...
