I don't get the people saying we shouldn't promote catch and release,that's a real dumb comment,which has no substance to be backed up with.

Without pike/musky/snoek in any given water,the silver fish population would explode,to an almost unsustainable level. Natural fish deaths would increase,and nothing would be there to clear the weak and dying fish up,thus stagnating the water,and adjusting the natural food chain.

You need pike.

Get your hand out of the gills!! .....There are other ways to handle Pike/Musky (as well as most other heavily toothed fish for that matter).

Don't touch the gill rakers, touching any part of the gill filament is bad news for the fish, but Kudos on Catch & Release!!
