I suppose it's great that you can play so fast but the problem is the notes don't get to breathe. You really can't tell what you're playing in all that flurry which is too bad because you're probably a great player...

I agree with MarceloLaraM. You can't win in this business. Someone makes the effort to come up with a new style of playing and what happens, he gets criticised because it doesn't sound like another style. The sound could be better but the playing is brilliant. I've just downloaded the sheet music from his webstie and am going to have a go. Wish me luck !

idk how people are saying this is lacking. its on beat, structurally the song is good, his technique is more than impressive, yea it has that cheesy ragtime sound that sounds like it belongs in a mario game, but its intended to sound like that. i dont think its lacking, if u dont like it, im cool with that, i dont blame you, but in my mind, and maybe im wrong, this song was everything it was trying to be, and more. good job

Hi Derek-very nice playing.I do however agree with "Biblioholic" in his conviction that your performance lacks "umph" and "focus".My feeling is that while the syncopated finger picking is very agile and hypnotic ,the beat is rather ill defined.I think all that is required to really pull everything together is for you to work on nailing down that bass string beat.Remember what the man said: "It don't mean a thing if it aint got that swing".Good luck and keep it up.

It's good, you're obviously an excellent guitarist... but, to me, it lacked a certain "umph." A beat. If you can play so much on one guitar, then throw in a beat to tap your foot to. All melody had me drifting off and losing focus about halfway through. It's pretty, but it was the same all the way through. Change it up. Mix it up.

Excellent pickin,' but this track is too laden from the acoustical reverb. It really takes a wired guitar and a mic not more than a few feet back from a tiny warm tube amplifier for all the realism you would ever need.

Great! Usually you dont see much musicality in a normal acoustic guitar picker, but he really brings the melody out like a ragtime piece. I can definitely see the classical influence, its hard for me to finger pick on a acoustic cause it ruins my nails haha. Great music keep it up!
