Not judging anything nor saying right or wrong. It is appeared that McDonald's tried to appeal the gays. It seems to be in open-minded atmosphere; however, the father did not know the son is gay. He did not deny nor affirm. He is still in the closet. I do not want to comment on French society just by that. Too little info. I interpret the still-in-the-closet part as care and love of son to father, hoping one day they can communicate truly with love and acceptance.

This is an ad that runs in France. The French have much less puritanical issues around sex than in the U.S.. Also, their humor is very irony based. I would bet the most common reaction to this in France is laughter. Not about the kids sexuality but the context of the situation. LGBT people have to put up with having their relationships dismissed as unimportant or less than other's experiences on a regular basis.

There are billions of people on the planet and billions of relationships. There is no way you can logically make that kind of generalization.

Also, consider the fact that far too many LGBT teens are abandoned by their parents after they come out. The parent-child bond, as much as society might romanticize it, is anything but the paragon of virtuous, pure love that we make it out to be.

Slaves were not to be abused or mistreated. Slavery is not permitted in true Christianity. Youtube does not allow enough characters to type... Your grandmother probably had a legitimate reason for not believing in GOD, I know I did when I was an atheist. My main problem with religion was that the majority cause more harm than good.
